Thankz Dj Pooh
-
shit's pretty hot... sounds like he's trying to differentiate this from his mixtape shit a bit, which is a little dissapointing because it comes off as sounding a lot like his mixtape shit anyway (maybe its just because that's what i'm used to), but i guess its just that he's done better... if dre did the beat (sounds kinda like his style), sounds like dre's done better too with the production
don't get me wrong, its a real hot song... not sure how commerically viable its gonna be though. hopefully the album's gonna be sick.
-
Dope song listening to it now 8)
-
track is off the hook
props for the track
-
Obviously you've never seen Friday...
There is no "Hmmm...."
9 years ago since I saw it, can't even remember that part.. ;D

IMO, its eh, so/so....maybe it needs to grow on me, oh well
PROPS TO EVERYONE!
-
props...
-
It's really grown on me man.
Dam can't stop listenin to it. The lyrics are on point and Dre did it again with them addicting simple beats.
-
:o
-
Phat 8)
-
Thanks a lot dude 8)
But still I am not feeling Dre's productions anymore since "2001"...
-
That cant be the first single, can it? coz thats weak for a dr dre production. It sounds incomplete very basic, some kid could make this beat at home with little effort.. i hope this aint the kinda shit what dre was recording for detox. It just sounds really unfinished to me it shouldnt even be on games album maybe a mixtape..but not for a album called' nigga with attitude'. i hope its just some kinda warm up.
-
dope track indeed
-
good lyrics, good beat, the hook is a bit to simple imo, but still a tight song
-
track is ill as fucc, dre still got it!!!
-
Shit is dope, no doubt about it. Not exactly the kind of superhit In Da CLub was (at least I think so now, but i've only heard this once). But supa hot shit, no doubt.
-
yeah the song is dope but 50´s hook/voice is annoying >:(
-
very nice! :)
-
WEST UP, DOPE WEST COAST TRACC, SOUND LIKE SOME NWA SHIT NOT MUSICAL BUT RAW.
-
yeah the song is dope but 50´s hook/voice is annoying >:(
Yeah, I love the song and I'm a fan of 50 in general but he can't sing, and his constant "singing the hook" is pretty annoying.
-
I just found out about the song yesterday when I talked to Fat Rat who's one of the black wall street execs. He told me they sent it to the radio stations and yesterday was the world premiere on LA radio. He said it's definitely the first single. Is it me, or did we all realize that this album REALLY is gonna drop, unlike virtually EVERY other west coast artist album Dre was supposed to drop since like 96 97? Other than Chronic 2001, everything else got cancelled and shelfed that was west coast, and even though I have known that it was coming out for sure, it's still suprising to me.
Personally, this track is decent, but I can't judge the impact it'll have yet. It's definitely a solid track, and if he has a catchy club type of single to come out after this one, then I can see the album doin good. I don't know if you would really call "In the club" the 1st or second single, since some people called Wanksta the first single even though it was on a soundtrack. This one reminds me of Still dre, not just from the pianos, but because it's laid back, and is somewhat of a "recap" to the last few years like that track was.
I'll hit you all with more info as soon as I find out more.
-
And Buck told me, in Cashville I'm good when I come through
So I gotta tuck in my chain like DJ Pooh!
Hmmm...
"So I aint gotta tuck in my chain like DJ Pooh"
-
I just talked to my friend who is a DJ for a local radio station here, and he said that they're not allowed to play this song until this coming Monday, but he said that they do have the single for it! This shit is gonna blow the fuck up!
-

Yeah thats true, unlike the other records on Aftermath, I just knew this record is gonna drop, there was no doubt about him gettin dropped from the label. The track is decent, even if the beat is somewhat simple but Game comes off tight. Its good to hear him spit over new beats and not just the mixtape tracks. Thats the shit I wanted to hear from Game. I really hoped Games 1st single (and the whole album) wouldnt be on some G-Unit shit, even with Fiffy on it it has a westcoast feel to it. I knew Dre was smart enough to give him a west coast single
-
Fuckin dope track, but it should've been Nate on the hook, not 50 (but when the groupies see the name 50 Cent, they are gonna buy it)
-
They shouldnt of had 50 or Nate on the hook, we hear them all day, every day. It woulda been dope if Dre did the hook, i hope to hear Dre on the album. AS for the song, i cant see it blowing up for any other reason than the fact 50 does the hook. Seriously, the beat is not that good, and The Game is way too "gangster" on here to get any commerical success......although i should never underestimate the power of g-unit groupies. But really, this is a cool song, havent really checked for game yet, dont see him really bringing the west back, too bad Dre didnt have anymore Family Affair or In Da Clun beats for him......
-
i thought this was "pretty dope" when I first heard it. But it grews on you like CRAZY. I def didnt want 50 on the hook, but hey HAVE to do it for marketing. This is definitely a radio song too, meaning that hearing it on the radio makes it sound a lot better. some songs are like that. The Beat in LA premiered it on the B-Side and Game called in.
-
I think it's a good idea to have 50 cent on the hook. Nate has how many songs on the radio right now?
-Groupie Love
-Houston Track
-Jadakiss Track
-Here's what they think of you...
The Hook is simple, but IMO thats a good thing. It makes it easy to sing along to and thats a good thing.
-
now i actually noticed how gay the hook is, 50 cant sing at all. But yeah, whatever has 50 written on it will blow the hell up so I dont really care 8)
-
yea but hopefully they gone have a clean version for that chorus because there will be alot of pauses if this version was sent to radios, therefore it won't have as much impact as it should. It's a solid track to me, BUT, I don't think it's gone get much play in the clubs, and the less plays in the club, the less of an impact. so who knows....if I was in charge, I would've made em put out a track with a more up-beat feeling 1st, but it's coo tho, they prolly have big plans for the second single, this prolly just the lil introduction.
-
Dope shit
-
you have to give props to Dre/Aftermath/Interscope for going against the grain with the politics these days and go with more of a "street record." hopefully this will open more doors for people who want do the same.
-
LIke Snoop ^^
-
yo this shits sick, who said game cant spit?
-
DAMN :o tight
-
yo im hooked on this joint, maybe tomorrow i'll be sick of it but its off the hook at the moment, the beat dre laced for game is mad tite, its got that old skool west vibe on it back in the day when west was runnin tings............kinda sick..........game kiils it and in my opinion the hook is sick in the part where its "nigga wessyde!"
all this needs it a video similar to still dre, with aftermath n co havin some sick partry with bitches n cadilacs and buddah
seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen
-
this SONG IS TIGHT!!! i expected some shit like this and im happy
even the Clean Version sounds tight!!!
°±ÛÛß
°ÛÛß 01 West Side Story (Dirty) 04:27 ßÛÛ±

WESSSSIIIIIIIIIDE!!!!!
-
"So I aint gotta tuck in my chain like DJ Pooh"
True, my bad.
Is it me, or did we all realize that this album REALLY is gonna drop
Yeah, me too..
The Game has been working his ass off, if he wasn't on near every mixtape and being talked about everywhere, I think Dre might have dropped him or pushed back the release.. I wonder what would have happened if Rakim was on as many tapes and tracks as The Game..
The chorus is simple as fuck.. but it gets stuck in your head.. I guess that's a good thing when it comes to sales.
-
Ya like someone said somewhere else...its not melodic or anything...its just sort of a throwback to NWA who used simple beats that were flat out tight.
-
The song is ok, but I'm really hyped that he holds it down for the west on this track. I thought he was gonna bitch out but he didn't.
-
SOMONE POST UP THE CLEAN VERSION !!!
-
SOMONE POST UP THE CLEAN VERSION !!!
Hit me up on AIM and I can hook u up bro....
-
SOMONE POST UP THE CLEAN VERSION !!!
I downloaded it and deleted it again...they didnt change the lyrics for the clean version, they just edited the cuss words out..
-
Im find it kinda annoying that they put 50 Cent on the hook for a song called "Westside Story", I mean I cant really see 50 in the video throwing up a Dub or anything, and If I did, It would prolly piss me off. Song is bangin tho, indeed! Thanks for the hook up. 8)
-
I like game but dont feel the song, the beat is too plain for my liking.
-
That's a smart move to make this a single. It's a damn good track.
-
Yeah, the beat is simple. Dun really like the keyboard. Has a hint of InDaClub. It'll still blow up.
-
WESTSIDE STORY NOT GAME'S 1st SINGLE!
-
ok
-
WESTSIDE STORY NOT GAME'S 1st SINGLE
"Westside Story" is not the 1st single from the Game: "No it is not, that is my street single, like Wanksta was to 50" (The Game). The cd is due out 10/26.
http://www.aftermathmusic.com/
-
expect a timbaland track as the 1st single. im almost 100% about that (heard from multiple sources). plus, there will most likely be 2 videos not sure bout that though. aftermath/interscope is investing a lot into this...
-
WHATSS UP BALLA CUZZ I HEARD THE SONG ITS GAME WITH TIMBO ON THE HOOK AND PRODUCE BY TIMBO.READ MY TAGG http://www.dubcnn.com/connect/index.php?topic=57353.0 STAY UP PIMPIN
-
fiyah!!!!!
-
man it's tight song, i tought Game's album will flop badly but songs like this on it.. 8) im really :)
its about same level as Wanksta for 50, and 50cent featuring will sell more records ;)
i listened all my Game mixtape songs, and i really am starting to feel him, probably will buy his album too... :D
-
yo i hope he got some special shit cookin if this aint the first single, cuz this shit be sick......
-
Man,
The Game definently can rap his ass of, but what is with these beats?? What happened? Like someone else said, someone kid could make this on his keyboard. I thought Dre has a bunch of musicians he's workin with and stuff and we get this repetitive beat. Maybe, I'm out of touch but I'm not feelin Dre's production after 2001 dropped.
-
"It's what we (Aftermath) call a street single. It's not his 1st "official" single. " Peace! Wait for the 1st single .. booooom!
-
I'm not impressed with the song at all and that shows that Dre has no confendence in the Game that he has to have 50 Cent on one of his first singles . I mean a eastcoast rapper on a song that suppose rep the west that's just not right.
-
Eh, its all a matter of marketing. 50 Cent and G-Unit are what's hot in rap right now, and on top of that they're tight with Game, so if that's what it takes to maximize his success, so be it. I'm not particularly thrilled with the hook, but I understand why its gotta be there.
"Westside Story" is not the 1st single from the Game: "No it is not, that is my street single, like Wanksta was to 50" (The Game). The cd is due out 10/26."
(from aftermathmusic.com)
-
is the track on the album, or is is just a bonus track on the album like wanksta was for 50?
-
Only time will tell...
-
is the track on the album, or is is just a bonus track on the album like wanksta was for 50?
It'll def be on the album, and not as a bonus track.

From Aftermathmusic.com:
"THE GAME FT SNOOP "WESTSIDE STORY"
Snoop Dogg is replacing 50 Cent on Game's street single "Westside Story". Kronik (DPG) announced it 1st and Black Wall Street's G-Ride confirmed it, but there's no official word from Game & Aftermath yet. Be on da look out for this new version. "
So now its featuring Snoop.
-
^thats intresting, but am i the only 1 who thinks this beat is anoying?

Game also said that Dre mixed the shit out of the new version with snoop on the hook
-

Sweet.
While addicting, the beat WAS a little simple..

yup
-
ya he said that it sounds a lot hotter on the album...but i dont know how much better mixing can add to "westsides story" because it seems simple.
-
Mixing can be everything in the difference between a finely refined sounding song and a beat that sounds like pure garbage... and dre's fucking awesome at this kind of shit; he's got an ear for which sounds to bring out and shit like that. I'm a bit skeptical myself, but I think the original is kinda hot and we'll see how it goes.

yea but the beat is already kinda simple. not that many layers, so i guess the final track will have more ambiance...
-
Well, we'll see! personally I dodn't have a problem with the original beat, but I don't think Dre would make it worse by mixing it. Plus, Snoop on the hook, it really is a WESTSIDE Story now.
-
West Version wit Snoop & East Version with 50
-
Oh hell yeah, this is what I've been waiting for...a real Game track and not just something for a mixtape.
Like everyone else said, the beat sounds a bit simple, but it's not the end of the world...it stays a a tight beat, period.
Can't wait for this album to drop...
-
this is why hes the most highly anticipated west coast album this year
