If you guys think about it Rap music wasnt made to have the best flow and best voice it was about message. Poetry plays a big part in rap. Just listen to Chuck D. I consider him one of the Greatests because of his messages. He cant flow for shit though. The reason I dont like eminem is because of him being so overrated. Like someone said above, Eminem just talks about his life. Im not his physiatrist so I cant relate or care about what he says. THAT is why he will never be the greatist. I know why people say Pac is the greatist now. Its because he was a voice. He had messages and whether you like him or not he was the greatist. No the Beastie Boys made it acceptable to be white rappers. They had a greater influnece on hip hop then Em. All rappers talk about their life but some (the greatest) go above that and tackle other issues. I personally like Em, but i also understand why he is hated. You got him dissin pop stars, rock star and etc.. Not just once but repeatedly. His subject matter is not varied enough to be considered a great. IMO he is a great lyricist be he is also a gimmick MC. Listen to the D-12 album.

Where did that 24 come from? Must have been worldwide sales or they must have included The Chronic, both Eastsidaz, Doggy All-Stars, and everything else he was on...etc.
Cause there is no way he sold 24 on his solo album in the U.S.
He has five (six if you count DMW) I'll be very nice and give him 8 for Doggystyle and he didn't sell 4 a piece for the last four albums which would give him 24.

I don't think longevity plays that much of an important role because many G.O.A.T.'s have came and went quickly like Kane and Biggie but are considered the best because the amount of impact and influence they had on hip hop in that short period of time. I think it has to do more with:
1. Skills - Eminem has this without a doubt.
2. Albums - No classics yet but a pretty consistent discography and definitely has the potential to create a classic.
3. Impact - Can't deny his impact in bringing respect back to the white M.C. and the new "trend" of signing white M.C.'s
4. Subject Matter - He can write classic songs with great subject matter but that is rare. "Lose Yourself" is an example of a creative approach to writing a song.
