Title: Der Untergang
Post by: 7even on October 05, 2004, 02:51:31 PM
I know this could also be in the Entertainment section, but I think it also fits here.

www.imdb.com/title/tt0363163/

Im just back from the cinema.
No small talk, this movie is excellent. I centers around the last days of Hitler and the day after his death.
The actors are brilliant, especially Bruno Ganz who plays Hitler. I strongly confirm getting a look at the original version in german, since I think the translated version might be far less impressive.
For like the first time Im the one who sees a movie a while before you guys will  :P.
Anyways the movie was completely stunning. You thought "Saving James Ryan" was dramatic? .. The Drama this film creates is in a whole different league.
In one scene I felt like crying, but I tried successfully not to because it would have depicted me as being uncool.
I strongly recommend everybody to watch this it's an experience one shouldnt miss.

I know I have...sometimes we watch some emotional movies in school, and I fight back tears, no matter how big or small they are, b/c I can't be cryin or even have tears welling in my eyes in front of my classmates and friends.

Face it...crying is not something men often do...its just not "manly".

Heard about the movie, it was quite controversial in Germany.
Might check it out, although I am not very interested in WWII things...
