Title: Where's Warren G?
Post by: BL7 on September 06, 2002, 04:07:37 AM
"Return of The Regulator" was classic, but I ain't heard much from him after that. Is he still making albums? Any info would be appreciated.

Peace

I love ROTR too, don't know why it gets hated on around here by some peeps, it was that classic Warren, nothing less nothing more. Last I heard was that he was releasing "Ghetto Village" along with a remix of it that would feature Snoop & Nelly. That was aggggggggges ago so it's obvious that ain't happening now. Oh, and there was that 'is he? isn't he?' on Dogghouse. Other than that i've heard nothing new  :-/

Damn. Hopefully tha sales of his last album didn't discourage him from making music. I heard Quik might be giving up because of tha same shit. :-/

Thats the one thing that pisses me off about the music industry, there's so much shit out there right now that is being pushed by labels and selling like crazy and it all  overshadows the good stuff thats available (like Warren & Quik's work). Then, artists like Warren & Quik feel unappreciated and it could push them to the point where they give up music altogether. I don't wanna see that happen, I love hearing new music from them because they make music for themselves, it's their passion and artists like that usually make the best music, but it must be upsetting when your work is overlooked and I don't really blame them for considering to leave music.

thank GOD he didn't do the remix with nelly.  A few months ago in RIME magazine they said he got an album on the way.  I hope so cause warren is sick, and ROTR is a dope album.

I know Warren ain't tha tightest rapper, but his beats are all classic. That's what really makes his albums, and he didn't disappoint me with ROTR.

Peace

I like Warren G but most of his shit gets played out too fast. After one week of rotation i archive his shit. His first was and is his only classic.

I personally don't think it's quite a classic hip-hop album, don't get me wrong, I love this album, I consider it one of the best albums from last yr, but there's many albums that are nr classic that I consider better than ROTR. It's classic Warren though, his best album since the legit classic "Regulate..." imo. I can appreciate Warren's music because he knows how to make a solid album and he doesn't try to be something he's not, he doesn't follow any trends he just does his thing and it works. Props to Warren, a true hip-hop artist.
