dont know what to call this... but i just had the idea.
what do you think we can do when sept 11th comes around to remember what happened among ourselves.
suggestions welcome .
btw.. i already have an idea. but i'mma let the people speak first.

i think you should close the board for the day, so the board can have a day of silence to remember the victims instead of bickering about Snoop, Daz, 2pac, Suge, west coast rap, etc. all the "who's a groupie/dickrider" shit should be put aside for the day, and the only way to do that would be to close the board for Sept. 11.

If u close the board for that one day it's fine with me, at least there should maybe not be beef on 09/11, also no battles etc. It's up to the mods, personally I wouldn't close the board but I think it's necessary to do sumthing special
The topic Flipp Dogg suggested to make might be sumthing interesting for the Anything Goez section, but IMO that doesn't necessarily need to be posted on 09/11. Really good idea though

Maybe ask people, out of respect to not post anywhere or discuss anything else but Sept. 11th. Have a forum where people can exhange coldolences, prayers, thoughts etc about the events one year on.

Overseer I dont think that asking ppl to only post about s11 will be a good idea. Because there are many 'floater's on this board who may just visit here and there, so they wouldnt know this rule, and just post normally. I think ur idea is a good one, but I still think on the actual day closing the board down would be a nice commemoration...

I say, do both. Or all three. Close the board, and replace the main page for the day with a rememberence picture, and maybe a link to 1 thread that was open where people could talk about september 11th.

I know where i was at when it happened.....by the way it happened on a very important date in my life....i'll never forget that day.
I'll share more on this if we open a thred on 9-11.

I say you make a thread on here where everyone who has beef with someone else just apolagizes and ends it right there and starts over. There is no reason for all the disses and name calling on here. Just make peace and enjoy the music and have good conversations, and arguments without name calling.

I say shut down the board for a day, put up some graphic in the victims' memory and/or some classic lyrics that suit the situation. (This IS a rap board after all. Can't think of an example this fast though.) Maybe a guestbook type o' thing where people could scribble down a few memories and condolences.

the 'post only about 9/11' thing wouldnt work coz like tobytizzle said, some people wouldnt know.

I'm with the idea of closing down the forum for one day and having a front page with a picture of some sort remembering the dead. I also like the idea of having some classic lyrics with the lyrical content suiting the tone of the day.

Please dont think that I agree with what happeneed becuase I toally dont, I just think that Is it over, we have all come to terms with it, shutting down the board aint gunna make n e 1 who gives a shit about september 11th stop and think about it, all it is guna do is make more people do drugs and drink liqor. Well thats what everyone says they do on here innit? I think everything should be kept the same. People should remember the day if they want to not because there aint nothing to do on the Internet on that day. People should come here express there feeling and be done with it, cos we all know that in are hearts that was a tragety, it will live with us forever.

On second thought, I agree with bez. Don't shut the board down, we need to move on, and shutting it down doesn't do anything for anybody that died, or anything.
But I do think you should drop all the bans, that's a great idea. Even if you have to ban everybody again the next day. Peace~

Bez does have a point, we should show respect and everything and of course many people on here think that there's something special that needs to be done, but the question is why. Ok, on september 11 it will have been 365 days since the most successful crime ever done by terrorists was comitted and killed several 1000 people. But those who do care won't stop carin because of nothing special havin been done on this board, those who never gave a fuck will only be pissed off about the board bein closed and some might really get depressive reminiscin and finally it's like bombin Afghanistan, the real victims can't benefit from it
A rememberance topic for those who wanna talk about it is good and droppin bans is good too IMO since everybody can be banned again the next day if there will really be a reason and I don't think they'll all only be about fuckin up the forum if they get one more chance.

Back to the subject at hand, I think it would be a good idea to have a month long thread where you could just post your thoughts on the day, not the politics behind it. Just how you felt when you saw the horrible things happening. Who you talked to. What you thought. Stuff like that.

Just read all 3 pages of this so far and found myself saying "good idea" more than once to ideas that contradicted one another !
My gathered opinion is that the board should be kept online with a stuck thread for people that feel the need to talk about memories. I liked the graphic idea, maybe 'Seer could change the arrows on the WCC forum logo to some blended images of the rescue workers and other suitable images, also making the WCC text smaller temporarily.
The de-banning idea is a complicated one, some people never learn from their mistakes, some will so it would have to be done on a per-case basis. Maybe instead of removing the bans make some kind of general offer that anyone who contacts the admins by email with a polite enough email explaining they want to contribute to the board in a constructive way and burying all beefs etc. will be un-banned.
