Title: How many of ya'll go to a gym?

Ok I thought i'd see since I just signed up for that shit to try get rid of my lil beer belly and make me fitter..

i have a card for facilities run by the local council.. i have a choice of 3 gyms within 10 miles (1 happens to be 1/2 mile from my house) and a choice of several swimming pools. I now get free entrance to all off of this one card.

i'm going to aim to go 3 times a week, 2 minimum.

i gotta go for my first orientation session shit tomorrow..

I used to play volleyball, but ever since I moved out of town I don't play any sports anymore. I might go to the gym at school soon, but I don't know yet.

most of my closer friends work out in gyms.. but I aint got the decipline for that.
running to catch the bus in the morning and playing basketball from avril to october is basically all I do. sometimes I do some crunches and shit at home, but after a few days my lack of decipline makes me stop lol. Im skinny though.

I go to a 24 hour fitness.  I have been working out pretty regularly lately and doing some good cardio too.  I good way I stay motivated is to set goals.  for instance try and curl this much weight this many reps by this date.  and meet the goal.

as for what 7even saud.. yeah i used to be skinny too till my mid 20s..  (i'm 29 now..)

i used to be out n about.. and used to ride a bike everywhere.. i did Judo, played Rugby.. etc..

But now i work 5 days a week sat at a desk, and get there in my car.. so somethings gotta change!

used to go 6 days a week, but now i am lucky if i make it 3 days a week from so much school work. i try to get at least 120 minutes of cardio in a week (3 40 minute runs).

I've been running 3 miles 4-5 times a week with light weight lifting in between

I'm trying to tone up before I seriously hit the gym.

yea, i signed up to LA fitness like 3 weeks ago, basically from smoking , and being out of shape, skinny, but out of shape, im ust tryin to slim up, like 6 pac, i try to go to the gym a lot, im not trying to go for huge muscles, i dont give a fuck, im just trying to look niiiice naked, and also, i play a lot of raquetball, that shit is fun, i love it, im getting good as shit too

I've been going to a gym since July.  About 4 times a week. 
It's gone pretty well, I've gained 15 pounds.  I'm up to 210lbs, I think I'll stay around here.

My gym is pretty shitty and it has no girls at all.  I might see two forty year olds if I'm lucky.  The good thing about my gym is that it's 3 minutes from my house and it's never busy so I never have to wait for equipment.

I really enjoy my time there...since uni and work i dont get much tme for sports any more so logically i joined the gym, but i was going to gym since i was in grade 10..so its a habit that i've just kept up...

But i'm really into the whole bodybuilding thing...

I used to do shit liek that too. 3 reps of hitting the weights, clap push-ups/jumps, hit the treadmill for 45 sec, then more clap push-ups/jumps.

I go 3 times a week and I have been lifting since i was 13. I weightabout 210 and I am trting to get cut now I take Creatine, Glutamine, Falx Seed Oil for supps.

doing cardio when you are lifting weights is not a good idea.  not only does it burn your energy that you would use for lifting it also burns the muscle that you are getting from lifting the weights.

If you are doing cardio and weightlifting, do them on separate days.  or go to the gym twice a day.  do cardio in the morning, and weightlifting in the evening.  otherwise you are pretty much wasting your time with the weightlifting and working extremely inefficiently.

seems to be working for me.  ???  I lift for about 2 hours then i run for 40 minutes. i jsut started about 3 weeks ago and im not even on a serious schedule like in the summer. i started at reppin 165 3 sets of 8 and now im reppin 195 3 sets of 8. i try to stay away from the bench now though and i go with dumbbells.

i want to join a gym, but its so damn expensive so i just do push-ups n situps at home but it sux cuz like i dont have a schedule that lays out set n reps n i really dont know lot of exercises to do

its working because you just started 3 weeks ago.  when you first start lifting, is the only time it will work.  think about it, how can you bulk up and lose weight at the same time?  doesn't work.

yeah i got at 3-4 times a week...its fun and its a good way to spend time, not waste it. i need to stay fit in the off season for football, and am pursuing wrestling too...sall good

not me, but i've got a bunch of back/neck/shoulder problems, so i have to do situps/pushups/crunches and a whole bunch of exercises each night, i also do kickboxing & jiu jitsu 2 times a week each

Sit ups are my biggest problem man lol. I HATE EM. I still do em though because I look at ym dad's big ass beer gut and I don't want to end up like him.

Like Mr. X to the Z said, I only wanna be on my back for fuckin these hoes and weightliftin, not sit ups  :(

well as of now im trying to get more ripped and jsut gain strength not mass. in early to late april when i begin gettin more itme i will start taking whey protien. i see what your saying. but for right now it wont hurt me in the long run will it?

sit ups don't burn fat, they build stomach muscle.  so if your worried about getting a big ass beer gut, do cardio, and basically don't drink as much beer and eat a lot of fatty foods.  you can do a 1000 situps a day, and it ain't really gonna help much against getting fat.

I went for a few months, hard to keep the discipline. in winter i dont feel like doin anythin.. in summer im always playin basketball.. or goin for a run... i wanna sign up for a gym again tho.

this is basically the training regimen i was on from april last year till octobre (school came and fucked everything up) got it off the lebanese forces site:

To be Fit… everyone needs to be just that “FIT” not over grown with muscles neither blubbering with fat. You have to find the balance and the following will information will help you to get fit.

Being fit can help you out in more than a few ways. It can help you be physically ready incase war breaks out, as well as get you in shape to avoid any diseases you might face a few years down the road.

It s better if you do the following in groups, you and a few friends that could help create an atmosphere of “team play” and later on close cooperation that might lead to “TEAM formation”.

Step One: Warm up and Cool down.
A warm-up should include some running-in-place or slow jogging, and stretching. It should last five to seven minutes and should occur just before the P.T. (Physical Training) or muscular endurance and strength part of the workout.

Step Two: Basic training.
Run (walking won’t help) for 20-30 minutes after stretching out, try as much as possible to make it on leveled ground, no ups and downs. Once you get to 1⁄2 the time you are willing to run do the sets that are in the table below, each set has to range from 5 to 25 repetitions, it’s important to do the same amount of repetitions in each set.

Here we will be running further and faster or you can replace faster by longer which ever fits you. Running time has to range from 30-40 minutes including the sets in the box below at 1⁄2 the time you are intending on running.

2 Wide-hand Push-ups 30 Seconds 30 Seconds

Keep in mind it would be better to start up with step one rather than jump straight to step two, and remember “frequency” (number of times you train in a week) can make A LOT of difference. The more you train the better. The best would be to apply this on a daily basis, remember that you HAVE to train at least twice a week

yo acgrundy, im 180 lbs, like 6;1, im kindas kinny, but like i gut, all im trying to do is slim up, and get a nice chest and 6pack, wats the best thing to do, like now, i try to eat as heslth as possible, and i just started drinking looots of water. how much cardio should i do, and how much muscle should i do,

Thats very true. I do all of the above so it should be all good.
