First of all, major props to Nima, Yash and Lil Jay for this one. That was a great interview - you guys asked him all those itching questions!
Secondly, I think Snoop should be commended for talking so candidly in that footage and telling people exactly how he felt. Yes, I'm disappointed that we're not going to see a return to the ''gangsta'' Snoop Dogg of old. However, his answer was sound and he has a point that certain classics cannot be duplicated. No-one can deny that - Snoop tried to duplicate the overall vibe of ''Doggystyle'' on several albums: the most notable in my opinion being ''Tha Last Meal'' and ''Tha Doggfather''. Unfortunately, whenever he attempted to do this he simply got shot down by fans who quickly compared these CD's to his classic debut. By attempting a new sound Snoop has experienced more success than he has in years, and has been embraced by a host of new fans who don't purely listen to the West Coast ''gangsta'' genre that the rapper was once known for. Why stop doing what your doing when this new sound gets you a platinum plaque and a No. 1 Billboard single? I'm not saying I enjoy the ''new'' Snoop as much as the old - but IMO his response is justified.
Its crazy that Snoop doesn't even know if he'll be on ''Detox''. The album will suffer a huge blow if he doesn't show up. It seems like the legendart combo of Dre and Snoop can duplicate a quality song on demand. I've yet to hear a collaboration of theirs that I really disliked. Plus, if this is Dre's final album he would be coming 'full circle' by hooking up with his original protege.

Exactly, some of em (tray deee, e-white...who else?) are mad at him or dissapointed in him because they think they deserved more money or something, and they probably thought they would go triple platinum and become big stars and shit, but that only happens to very few rappers. And they should be very thankfull to Snoop, because imagine if Snoop never gave them a chance...nobody would've ever heard of some of em. Too bad it didnt work out with most of em, but look at Bad Azz he's hustling in the music bussines, dropping guest spots and shit mostly thanks to Snoop...he may not be a millionaire but its always better than working at Carls Jr. or something.

major props for the interview, that was great. For me the most interestin part was when he gave his reason for havin so many features and producers on his albums, to spread the wealth. I know personally, i like my albums with as few features as possible, but when he explains it like that at least now i can see his reasons for it, it's not cause he can't hold down a record on his own, i still don't like it, but at least now i understand.
BTW for the soopafly interview do not end that interview until we get a solid release date for that album, also can't wait to hear some new Rage, she still the tightest female emcee.

1. That shit he said about the 213 record...thats some bullshit. If some records ain't supposed to sell, then howcome warren g didn't produce the whole entire thing instead of getting all these other producers who were popular at the time?
2. about snoop talking bout the eastsidaz and all the other rappers he brought up that is mad at him now: I agree with what he said. he has brought up a shitload of rappers. Hell many rappers I have come to know only because I was a fan of snoop dogg, and that includes tray deee, goldie loc, and bad azz. I got a lot of respect for snoop comming out and saying how he don't have no bad blood between any of them and he is willing to work with them, including kurupt. I can't say that I disagree with him on the point about how he has given so many rappers a chance. whether he paid them or not, that is besides the point. what he did was give them an opportunity to break out into the rap game. I know there are probably thousands of people in the music industry who would kill to get on a snoop dogg album or song. shit imagine how much some people (like that asian chick aki la) pay snoop to be on here single. and he puts his homies on for free, or maybe even pays them. I gotta side with snoop here.

4. I didn't feel snoops newest album at all. most the time I don't like his music anymore, and I am dissapointed with most the decisions he makes, but I still got luv for the guy. After all he has given me the greatest album ever, and plenty of dope raps in the 90's, and brought up so many rappers I like today.

everybody who has been at the Snoop Concert in Frankfurt has to agree that almost everybody in the concert hall could rap and sing 'beautiful', 'drop it like its hot' and that other newer song he did... at that part of the show the crowd was massive... you felt like almost everyone knew the lyrics, .. but me ;D
but when snoop did his doggystyle songs there was only a small part rapping the lyrics with him!
so it was quite the opposite of the answer he gave in that interview!
and since cologne is also in germany the crowd probably recognize the same songs as every other crowd here in germany, cause its depending on the charts!
there arent too many snoop-hardcore fans in germany, well, there are a lot, but not as much, as the ones who love his pop shit! its a whole new generation
but i was very happy with the the tracks he did
when he performed deep cover... lol, NOBODY knew the lyrics, and i was screaming them out - lol

That was a good interview. Snoop's got a good heart and a good soul, people never mention that I guess because a man's supposed to be hard and always on the defensive, but I think when he speaks so honestly to people about how he really feels with no regard to whether or not it's gonna sound soft or whatever, that's a true mark of character. Even though some of his music is filled with negativity, there's a lot of people that he's personally helped out, and gave a better life to in his career. He's just a regular guy who never once forgot where he came from and who loved him.

Yeah he didn't do it in Amsterdam, after Amsterdam yash and me were like damn i wish he woulda done that. And in Cologne suddenly he started doin that i was happy as hell that's one of my snoop all time favs
