Title: Snoop Dogg Hits Up DUBCNN Again! Snoop Head Of "The West Coast Movement"!
Post by: Nima - Dubcnn.com on March 25, 2005, 09:37:04 PM
To get the audio and see the full update, hit up www.dubcnn.com

Quote
Bigg Snoop Dogg hits up DubCNN.com again to broadcast a message. Tha Doggfather has been working behind the scenes and is definitely going to be shaking the rap game up real soon. It's a NEW MOVEMENT, definitely, to bring the West Coast back on track.

Snoop hit us up to let us know a little bit about what's coming.

"It's basically a movement. It's a muthafucka trying to put the West Coast in the proper perspective. As far as just unifying and organizing. And once I get with the players from the West that matter, that make a difference, that really need to be at this muthafuckin' situation, we will proceed to give you more information, and have you with us so you can check it all out with your own two eyes." [Audio: HERE]

Snoop Dogg is eager to get this West Coast shit cracking again, and as he said unifying everybody. He's going to be calling a Western Conference real soon, to make all this shit official, of course, DubCNN will be in the house.

This will also help to break new artists from the West in the game, who haven't shined yet, aswell as veterans still putting it down. "Definitely fucking with new artists, definitely. And this is basically just to help get over all the bitterness of artists that had deals, and can't make it, give them some love, and at the same time open the doors for them new acts!."

Snoop is well aware that it's hard nowadays to make it if you're not affiliated or signed to an already established artists. "It's like this. Dre or Snoop. Dre is fuckin' with none of ya'll. And I'm tired of niggaz trying on their own, doing their thang, and not selling. Every nigga that I rap with that ain't even from the West Coast somehow sell a million records. So why can't I do it for my niggaz at home? Even the niggaz that I don't like, that got attitudes wit me, that hate on me. I can suck it up and become a business man and show them that they shouldn't hate me but they should love me cause I'm a window of opportunity.".[Audio: HERE]

When I told him that alot of his fans were afraid he turned his back to the West Coast when he signed to Star Trak, he replied "I'm not signed to the Neptunes. I don't even know how that got out! I'm on Doggystyle Records! If you noticed everytime you see my video, you see my shit, it say Doggystyle/Star Trak/Geffen. It's a business move! After I left No Limit, I refused to be signed to anybody else! I'm a boss!" [Audio: HERE]

He also spoke on upcoming projects on Doggystyle Records. Soopafly's upcoming album is set to come out on there, aswell as possibly the D.P.G. album that's in the works as we speak.

But the main topic of this update is about the Western Conference. This is more than just an event, or just a project, or just a record, this is a whole Movement. I'm not going to let the cat out the bag just yet, but I will bring ya'll more detailed info on this real soon. "The Western Conference. We need this! We need something to organize niggaz, unify, and have some type of leader that they can look up to in this game, from somebody who can really stamp they shit! I'ma put the plan together in the next couple of days as far as getting all the figures together that should be a part of it and run it past them. Once I run it past them, it's up to them to execute it!". [Audio: HERE]

You can also catch Snoop on tour with The Game right now nationwide. "We about to jump on that tour together. This shit is going to be a program that can work, if ya'll want it to work. If ya'll ain't with it when I come back home, cool! I'll keep doing me ya'll keep doing ya'll. But if ya'll with it when I come home, you gotta have your shit together!". [Audio: HERE]

This is just the beginning of what DubCNN and Snoop Dogg are going to bring you. Until we get the shit fully cracking, check out an exclusive drop from Snoop for the site below:

My man DoggyDogg is back!!!

LOL... ok, maybe not quiet DoggyDogg, but at least his sounding like he did back in 1999-2002 when he was trying to get his lable off the ground and was putting out the Eastsidaz and other DPG projects. One thing I really really want, is a complete Dogg Pound CD, I mean, every DPGC affilate, of course Daz and Soopafly, but Warren G, Nate Dogg, Bad Azz and Technic to reform the LBC Crew with Lil' C Style, maybe Crooked I fucking with DPG again, of course Goldie Loc, and other dudes that have screamed DPGC, even Kurupt.

Shit, a strong Dogg Pound again can lead Black Wall Street, Strong Arm Steady with Ras Kass if Xzibit and Snoop Dogg are willing to fuck with each other, and add some other people to the major league gang like Sly Boogie and maybe some Latin rappers. Shit, if Snoop is for real, he needs some major league players, or make lesser known talents into major league players.

yeah interesting shit but like others dudes said i'm a lil sceptical. Though it's good to see that Snoop still care of of his coast and wanna to use his powers to help others cats. About dre there is a problem he has so many projects, now he has few times to help new westcoast artists (outside of course Game and maybe Bishop).I hope Detox will feature new westcoast cats (doubt it coz Interscope wanna guests like 50, Em) but for me it won't be enough. Dre should sign cats like Crooked I, Planet Asia but he prefers making money with artists who have controversy in their lifes that showing more love for his coast (though I'm still a dre fan and he was in wc projects after 2001 like Snoop 's last meal and x's restless)

First of all...like everyone I am excited about the prospect of this ''Westcoast Conference''

However...as much as I am a fan of Snoop...I feel that this may be too little, too late. Remember in the DubCNN interview when Snoop was asked by Nima about the 213 album and its poor showing? Snoop just tip-toed around that question, which annoyed me somewhat. Don't get me wrong: for the most part I thought that he came off incredibly well with his answers. However, 213 is IMO the closest thing the West has to an all-star line-up. The opportunity that record had to succeed was immense: three seasoned veterans who have each garnished huge commercial success, and yet somehow they managed to fumble the ball! ''The Hard Way'' should have been one of the major steps in operation ''Bring The West Back''. Instead, it was abandoned after one single - apparently so Snoop could focus on the success of his own album (''R&G'').

And what about all those liner notes in ''Welcome to tha House Vol. 1''? All those messages saying things like E-White ''Autumn 2003?'', Soopafly ''Summer'' etc. None of those projects transpired on Doggystyle Records. Plus, Soopa's been working on his album for what feels like an eternity...

I want to believe Snoop's message, and I do think that he is enthusiastic about his proposed plight. However, I just hope that he's willing to put in the inevitable time and effort it will take to achieve the desired results. As he put it, Dre is not exactly a life-line at this point so its pretty much up to Snoop to take on such a task. I hope he's up to the challenge.

This is some awesome news.  What makes me hopeful that this will actually go down is the snoop reached out to Nima, which means he wanted to get the word out.  Usually it's the other way around, so if snoop is tryin to reach out, means he must be ready to put it in motion

Sounds like big things are about to go down

I wonder who the other big players he wants to get involved, maybe e-40 and too $hort.

snoop said similar shit to allhiphop before, and we got a Neptune's produced album.  I'm sorry, I flat out won't believe snoop until I see some progress.  This could have been done if he had retired after releasing NL Top Dogg and focused on promoting some of the artists on his label (Bad Azz, Soopafly, E-White, Eastsidaz) but he failed at that with all but soopafly off the label.  Soopafly was once a dope producer/rapper, now he's Snoop's yes man

I think if Snoop was to discover that the fans reaction to this news is disbelief, it might motivate him to work harder on achieving this goal. I doubt he would enjoy being told that he ''can't'' gain this 'resurrection', and would probably be eager to prove the doubters (myself included) wrong.

Who knows, this outcry could fire Snoop up to put some serious effort into his ideas. Well, that's what I'm hoping for anyway.

It would be such a lovely thing to find out he only took the commercial root the last few years so he could finance such a resurrection without going broke.

Still,I have my doubts. That's to say I will support him if he actually does it, and if he doesn't,he can count me off.

The way to go would be to make an entire westcoast album and make his first single something huge like this dream of mine:'The Westcoast'- Snoop Dogg f Dr. Dre,Ice Cube,DJ Quik,Xzibit & Nate Dogg.....such a single would undoubtedly blow up huge, even with shitty production.

Please, please, please, please, please let Snoop actually do this!

I was thinking, Snoop may help the west become major again, but the next region to blow up is the mid west. I will put good money that ChiTown blows up, though it might be the west and like the south when the east was big in the late 90's, the mid west plays a close second until they actually take over. We'll see. I was just thinking about it, and I think the mid west will blow up soon. THe west does look more promising that 2-3 years ago though.

again dubcnn screws up by interviewing this fonyass bitch.  hes going 2 start singing pop and now hes trying 2 say that he wants 2 try 2 bring tha west back up????  what i want 2 know is what real westcoast artist will want 2 even talk 2 this switch-hitting fool. he claims 2 be one thing then trys 2 act all hard and gangsta.  he doesent even have any westcoast producers ( that i know of)  he ruined 213 by not letting warren g produce anything. and yet he claims 2 be westcoast. man hes prolly scared of going back 2 tha real hoods because hes a trader 2 tha westcoast and  i cant believe yall still listen 2 him and keep interviewing him. he aint westcoast anymore.

snoops a little bitch period.

^^ hey that's what you say, but most artists, even ones who he has had problems with, are interested in seeing what's gonna happen. i spoke to bad azz, he said "it's about time" and that it will be interesting to see if he comes htrough.

bishop lamont said that the streets have been doing this for a while now, and snoop is just now catching up, but it's a good thing that he did catch up so they can all unite.

that's just some of the feedback i've been getting. and aslong as snoop dogg keeps making music, he will be a figure in the game, like it or not.

yall forgetting that he had a nice west coast camp from around 99-01 but he turned his back on them. tha eastsidaz, kurupt, suga free, bad azz, the twinz, warren g, doggys angels, nate dogg, xzibit, dr. dre, etc etc etc. why doesnt he work with them anymore? if he had that line up & fucked them off to blow up again, i find it hard to believe he would come back & try to help west coast artist.

only artist from the west he'll work with: The Game, Daz, Soopafy...but thats only on mixtapes. dont hold your breath waiting to see them on one of his albums

maybe Game coming out talking all that 'the west is back' shit knocked some sense into Snoop. either way, the more people that get involved with it the better. with Game & Snoop both trying to bring it back now it'll be alot easier than just one of them doing it

Snoop needs to get off the neptunes dick...if he really was concerned about the west, how come he goes and gets the neptunes, or thinks about having p. diddy produce his record....when he has warren g sittin' there, battlecat sittin' there, dj quik sittin' there, soopafly sittin' there....213, no warren g, out of his 7(!!!!) albums, how many songs has the g-child produced??  I see that he puts a few west coast acts on his albums, but why are they never featured on his singles...except for bitch please & loosen control??  IMO he hasn't promoted his "west acts" for shit...unitl he stops fuckin' with the justin timberlakes, neptunes & p. diddy's of the world, I won't buy another Snoop record...I haven't bought anything from snoop since the last meal...

stop hatin on snoop, jus cuz he's makin different kinds of albums...and collabin with different kinds of artists, dont mean he doesnt have love for the west. Him and GAME comin out on tour, and even hittin up Van-City, BC shows they got love for the west (probably our sticky green we got up here too) lol. i bet those two together can help get a big westcoast movement going, along with bishop lamont. i think he's off the hook, definitely one of the next biggest names to come out from the west.....and like bishop says, we gotta have love for everyone on the west man, even the nice MC's. as long as they real...then dont hate.

WESTCOAST 4 LIFE! B.C. WEED!

peace,
