so does anyone here actually go to see punk shows? and if you do do you get in the pit? its the funnest shit ever kinda like gettin crunk in the club but a lot more dangerous IMO. When I am in a club and some Lil JOhn comes on or something and people start jumpin around they dont do as much if theres a pit unlike a punk show where people are throwin punches and kickin and shit. I am jus coming from seeing My Chemical Romance and The Used on the Taste of chaos tour http://www.tasteofchaos.com check it out

yeah, i do listen to punk, more than i listen to hiphop actually, but i havenīt been to a lot of shows. there were a few though, and i know how shit gets down lol, itīs pretty wild, but long as youīre not unlucky enough to be hit badly i think it can be pretty cool 8)

yea I caught one on the chin about a month ago, shit hurt bad cuz I wasnt expecting it. The worse part about the tour I went to tho was there were a lot of little kids and shit who get mad when u push em to get through, some chick pulled me aside and said I was rude >:( the bitch looked to be about 15 or 16.

As for punk music, i used to be into it right before i got back into hip hop, I remember my first Punk concert was seeing the Bouncing Souls, and man, i didnt know what i was thinkin, but i tried gettin in, got socked in the face by this huge ass white shaq, bloody nose and everything, was on the ground in the middle of the pit, was gettin stomped on, luck for me, my homies saw me and dragged me out, But Yea....

most of the influence is due to songs i've heard and liked on skateboard videos.. which themselves contain a wide and eclectic mix of music..

The Clash is a great band, London Calling is definetly up there for one of the greatest albums.

Listen to quite a lot of punk, but mainly Skate-Punk, (Bad Religion, Cosumed etc.) and Ska-Punk (Mad Caddies, Goldfinger etc.), the best to bounce around in a pit too. Agree with your list Rampart, especially Thursday and Brand New, two of my favouite emo bands along with Thrice and The Movielife.

The shins, muse, mars volta, something corporate, the Strokes, weezer, french kicks, death cab for cutie, the arcade fire, .. and a couple more bands, but for the most part i hate all that punk emo shit.. they gotta do something really impressive, like mars volta, i love the dudes voice and the guitar, or something corporate and muse, the piano is amazing...

I listen to some punk. I been to about 10 shows, been in the pit for a majority of them. it was fun, I don't do it anymore cuz I would rather enjoy the show. Social Distortion is my fav punk band, I have seen them 3 times and going for my 4th on june 8.

When I go to Smokeout, I always hop in the pits. They're fun as fuck. I jumped in the pit at the Korn/Linkin Park concert with Snoop. Only Korn's pit was hard.
The dopest pits are Psycho Realm pits cuz Cholo's get crazy upset. LOL. The Mosh Pit for M.O.P. was crazy as fuck, especially since Fox started it. Crazy chick, Danze was about to jump into the crowd and lay foos down if they hit her. Dude was heated yelling at her on the mic. LOL.

I listen to everything, including punk. I've never been a fan of mosh pits. I would rather enjoy the music and performance than worried about getting knocked out in the pit. They get pretty damn crazy in those things.

Punk is one of those genre's i've never really liked too much, my only exception is The Ramones, The Clash and Green Day. Saw Green Day earlier this year on their American Idiot tour, they put on a pretty good show. I can't stand all that new emo shit, some of the hardcore side of it is listenable like Thrusday or Posion the Well 'bout it though
As for moshing, yer i normally get in there and sometimes go up for a crowd surf. However there has been groups i've seen in the past such as QOTSA (which i can't wait to see em again in 2mths), The Strokes, Metallica, Atmosphere, etc where i've stood back and watched from a distance so i can appreciate it a bit more and just take it all in. The worst mosh i've been in was probably The Hives or Deftones, people just went crazy to em.
White Boy - TMV would be good to see the live, the only thing i don't like about them is some of their fan base. Most i've talked to about them are really ignorant and don't hesitate to hail them as the greatest band, down playing all other recent bands. I don't mind DCFC (indie band i might point out), go pick up their latest (John Byrd EP) if you haven't already got it.

i seen the mars volta live, 1 i dint like, not many girls like them, so its like a dick parade, also, they played a lot of shit from "frances the mute" which i didnt feel was that good of a cd, i wanted to hear some deloused shit, i fuckin love that cd, they only did like 2 songs, i wanted to fuckin hear televators and track 1&2, and they didnt play it, also, the concert was like and hour and 30 min, but like, between EVERY FUCKIN SONG, they would do like 5-10 minutes of like calm trace shjit, were the dude just fucks around on the guitar, at first it was dope as shit, but after a lil, its like, just play the fuckin song, i was getting all sleepy, i wanted some energetic shit, like roulette dars.. but quality wise, they are very good, also they got a bucnh of dope instruments on stage, like this black dude on the keyboard is awesome, and some goofy white dude who plays the bongos and a sax, dope shit... i guessi shoul have went to their show before so i could have heard more shit from their old cd..

i know nothing about the different punk-genres... but some of the punk-bands (at least i think they're some kinda punk) i listen to are Bad Religion, Millencollin, Less Than Jake, old Offspring, Pennywise, The Vandals, old Green Day ++
