Title: Mobb Deep no longer signed to Jive
Post by: Elevz on April 05, 2005, 02:57:31 AM
I just read this on www.juize.fm - I'll give you a translation for the article:

Quote
Recordcompany Jive removed Mobb Deep from their artist roster because of their disappointing sales. Despite their hit 'Got it twisted', Prodigy and Havoc couldn't manage to sell more than 500.000 copies of their album 'Amerikaz Nightmare'. With artists like Justin Timberlake, R. Kelly, Usher and Outkast on their label, nowadays Jive is used to loads better record sales, and therefor they decided to remove Mobb Deep from the label.

...

I don't understand how Jive could possibly think Mobb Deep would be a top selling group. And what's wrong with distributing a gold album? Jive are being silly there. If they only want to help out multi platinum artists, then why did they sign Mobb Deep in the first place?

yeah i wondered why nobody said he was dissin mobb deep on piggybank as well..he dissed dem about as much as he did joe an jada...wonder if theyll respond...even if they do it would probably be mad subliminal...

^^ He didn't really diss Havoc, because Jay-Z didn't say shit about Havoc, he only aired out P.

itīs pretty interesting what is cosidered īsubliminalī in rap. itīs been a while sincei heard something īsubliminalī by definition. and jome, whatīs your point? 50 said "Mobb Deep", which does include Hav and also, just cause Jay-Z only dissed Pee directly i guess that donīt mean Hav donīt care
