I really like Dr. Dre, this isn't a haters thread, but everyone has got to admit that Eazy-E definitely fucked over Dre with his diss songs
Dr. Dre's compared to Eazy's were tight, but Eazy had more clever rhymes and more hard hitting disses
Whenever I listen to all dem songs, it is impossible for me to even imagine that Dre got Eazy better on any of them
Eazy's beats were more hardcore, definitely more gangster, and he basically came out in all of them
sayin straight up "Fuck you" to Dre, Snoop, Death Row, etc..... fuckin doin it like an O.G. not givin a fuck
I find all them diss related Eazy-E songs some of the tightest shit in ever
I bet Dre didn't even write most of the shit he rapped about Eazy-E ::) :-X ;D ;) :laugh:
Even if you love Dre (and I really like him) he definitely lost this battle

Dre didnt really walk into this battle with any hard feelings, but u could tell that eazy was angry as fuck.. Eazy did a good job to get his "pride" back, however, Dre won alot with not dissin him back and move forward...

i hate to admit it but Dre won. i usually go with the underdog cuz they end up puttin out better quality music to get their love back (ex: Ja Rule vs G-Unit). but in this battle, Dre was puttin out way better music. "The Chronic" was better than any album Eazy dropped on his own. and Dre really proved that Eazy needs him and not the other way around

I dunno man, y'all got some serious revisionist history goin' on here. Back in 92-93, Dre and the Dogg Pound were SMASHING Eazy and em. Not to say that I don't like Real Muthaphukkin' G's, cuz it's a cool song, but it was a comeback track to Dre Day, which when it came out just murdered everyone that he got at on that song. Eazy's response had some good lines, but dont act for a second like they weren't biting Dre's production style trying to diss' Dre! It sounded just like G Thang, lol. And Eazy needed a whole EP, Dre just needed one track and then moved on.
And that argument that Dre wasn't writin' his own shit . . .well guess what, neither did Eazy-E. . .

Do hip-hop producers hold Dr. Dre in high esteem? It's like asking a Christian if he believes Christ died for his sins. Dre has a whole coast on his back. He discovered Snoop -- one of the two greatest living rappers, along with Jay-Z -- and signed Eminem, 50 Cent and now the Game. He takes artists with great potential and makes them even better. I wonder where I'd be right now if Dre had discovered me.
I remember hearing Dre's music before I really knew who he was. I had a tape of Eazy-E's Eazy-Duz-It when I was ten years old (until my mother found out it had curses on it and confiscated it). I didn't know what "production" was back then, but I knew I loved the music. The more I learned about producing hip-hop, the more I respected what Dre was doing. Think about how on old N.W. A records the beat would change four or five times in a single song. A million people can program beats, but can they put together an entire album like it's a movie?
When I was learning to produce, working in a home studio in my mother's crib, I tried to make beats that sounded exactly like Timbaland's, DJ Premier's, Pete Rock's and, especially, Dr. Dre's. Dre productions like Tupac's "California Love" were just so far beyond what I was doing that I couldn't even comprehend what was going on. I had no idea how to get to that point, how to layer all those instruments. The Chronic is still the hip-hop equivalent to Stevie Wonder's Songs in the Key of Life. It's the benchmark you measure your album against if you're serious. But it's "Xxplosive," off 2001, that I got my entire sound from -- if you listen to the track, it's got a soul beat, but it's done with those heavy Dre drums. Listen to "This Can't Be Life," a track I did for Jay-Z's Dynasty album, and then listen to "Xxplosive." It's a direct bite.
I just met Dre for the first time in December -- he asked me to produce a track ("Dreams") for the Game's record. At first I was starstruck, but within thirty minutes I was begging him to mix my next album. He's the definition of a true talent: Dre feels like God placed him here to make music, and no matter what forces are aligned against him, he always ends up on the mountaintop.

what tha fuk are you talking about? heller didn't make more money offa ruthless then Eazy did lol. That's some straight up bullshit you made up. Heller worked for Eazy. And was stealing money from Ruthless that's why Eazy fired em in Feb of 95. And I hate to tell you this but Heller doesn't make anything off of Eazy's catalog and Ruthless. He was trying to say he was owed half of everything when E died but that was never proven in court. So everything you just said was some strait up bullshit.
And as far as everyone sayin Eazy fuked himself. I don't really agree with that. Cube left mainly because he wanted to go solo anyways. Dre was just greedy and wanted to be the main person on the label. He wanted to be Eazy. This whole thing about Eazy fukin everyone has got blown up over the years. Even Yella said it was bullshit and not true. He said everyone was getting paid. It was more about ego's then anything. I mean Eazy baught dre a million dollar home not to long before he left ruthless. That's the house he worked on the chronic in. Krayzie Bone said Eazy was still payin Cube 10's of thousands of dollars in 94 for the work Cube did for Ruthless bak in the 80's. So in reality there's a lot of shit out there that ain't true and Eazy didn't fuk himself. Dre was a bitch who wanted to be the main man and couldn't be at Ruthless. So he left. And paid Eazy more then he ever made off of Deathrow. Some dude from interscope said Eazy was makin 50cents a unit sold when dre was only makin about 10. . .
But as far as who won the battle musicly i'd say Eazy. All of his diss records were a lot harder and more realistic then anything Dre did. . .

I agree 100%. A lot of yall are young and maybe don't remember, but I remember, almost every other day, DPG would be up in the radio stations freestylin and talkin shit. Real Muthaphuckin G's was tight, I love the song, but Dre and DPG were so hungry at the time and with Snoop and Kurupt's freestyle battle rapping background, Eazy E, Knocc Out and Dresta didn't really stand a chance from a lyrical standpoint.

Yeah, i was in high school during the Death Row - Ruthless battle. Truth be told, Death Row was running shit back then. Snoop was THE rap superstar, everyone was waiting for Doggystyle to drop, and the buzz was just tremendous (think 50 Cent or Eminem now, times 10). I always felt like Dre didn't need to say anything else...The success of The Chronic and Death Row was enough.
Now, don't get me wrong, I copped Eazy-E's album the day that it dropped, but he seemed incredibly bitter to me. Every other track was aimed at Dre, like Dre's success was burning a hole in Eazy's heart.
Real muthaphukkin' Gz was tight, but Kaligula's right, the first thing I thought when I heard that bass line was G-Thang.

Dre landed a near fatal body blow. Eazy was gettin criticized, punked, disrespected.
But to me Eazy came back with a KO
1. Real Muthaphukkin Gz smashes Dre Day.
2. Its On (Dr. Dre) 187 em Killa sold 3 million records.
3. What Would U Do, to me , was the nail in the coffin. Its On was dope as hell, and the Exxttra Special thanxx intro was funny...but what would u do was on some next level shit.

I'ma still have to ride w/ Dre on this one. There's a few people sayin' it shouldt be about careers and all that and just the music, but I'm sorry you have to include that. It's history, and that's the way that it happened. Think about it, when Dre Day came out it LEVELED Eazy's career, I can't see how anyone can deny that. No one would fuck w/ E after that, on some business shit or some music shit. It's like what 50 did w/ Ja. And even if Eazy came out w/ 100 diss records it was still a wrap. His whole shit didn't rebound till he dropped the issue and started fuckin' w/ Bone. Now, I can see how the lyrical content is debatable, cuz they took some good shots at Dre and crew, but I'm arguin' strictly from a historical standpoint, and the history speaks for itself. . .

Who won the beef? They both won and they both lost if you ask me. Everybody could see that Dre & Eazy didn't hate eachother. I feel like a lot of the people around them made the beef more than it really was, coz I know Eazy & Dre didn't really wanna beef, but noone wanted to back out of it first in regards of the media and their camps.
Eazy let the world know that Ruthless were more street than Death Row was, while Dre showed Eazy that he really needed him, and that he would make gold wherever he went.
Dre did get punked when he left Death Row. He basically gave the label away, but I really respect Dre for starting up again on his own. He did make a lot of money while he were there, coz him & Suge were the ones who had most of the publishing rights.
People have always tried to bring Dre down fromt he throne, but the fact is that he does magic wherever he's at. I know that him & Eazy would hook up if Eazy wouldn't have passed away.

Think about it, when Dre Day came out it LEVELED Eazy's career, I can't see how anyone can deny that. No one would fuck w/ E after that, on some business shit or some music shit. It's like what 50 did w/ Ja. And even if Eazy came out w/ 100 diss records it was still a wrap. His whole shit didn't rebound till he dropped the issue and started fuckin' w/ Bone.
I don't see how you can say it leveled Eazy's career when his last 2 albums both went platnium. and Eazy didn't drop the issue and just start fukin with Bone he was still makin traks dissin Dre and Deathrow up untill a few months before he passed. He was even suposed to be on BG KO & Dresta's DPGK trak. So I don't really agree with what your sayin. Dre had the more commercial success and aclaim but Eazy was still sellin a lot of records makin a lot of money and having street cred. So it should just be bassed upon who you think made the tighter songs and I personally think Eazy killed dre. . .

same here... and you“re right in my opinion... and I gotta say Eazy won that battle, no doubt... so what if he made almost an entire EP dissing Dre? I think Eazy knew/hoped it would stirr up some new disses or/and controversy and that would have only benefited him... as a rapper he wasn“t that much without the others in NWA although I really enjoy his solo albums after NWA... I think they“re all tight... Dre Day only makes Eazy“s payday... you can“t get any realler than this...

Eazy's been my favorite rapper since I was a kid. I wouldn't say he's the best rapper as far as spittin goes but I do think he had the biggest impact on Rap and made the best music. . .
