Title: Live/acoustic instruments in rap ...
Post by: Chalkz on July 18, 2002, 12:45:03 AM
Which producers uses live/acoustic instruments in rap?

I think that it's cool to use live instruments in rap but sometimes with an exception of the drums. Often does the computermade drums sound better than live drums.

I'm beginning to make rap/hip hop/R&B with a friend which by the way also is at this board called number1witabullet. We go by the name "Chalkz". We've been making our music with Cubasis and a keyboard but now we're talking about making the beats with acoustic instruments.

I think that Dre does some of his songs with real instruments but again with an exeption of the drums.

What do you think? and again which producers uses live/acoustic/real instruments in songs?

The Roots uses nothing but live instrumentation. Fred Wreck also uses some real instruments, except for the MPC
