I was ridin in L.A. today, and I think I was playin Power 106 or The Beat.....all I know is a beat came on and I was like damm this sounds like some modernized west coast g shit, and it's soundin hard as hell. Then I hear Nate Dogg come in and I'm like dayum this shit hard as hell!! I hope somebody wack doesn't start rappin....then next thing you know, Quik comes on killin that shit! I had never heard of this song, I just know Nate sings the hook n says somethin like "Pass me by...in her black merceeeedez" or some shit, and I think Quik mentioned Baby ree in his verse. Nate dogg had a part he was singin on the verses too, and at first it doesn't even sound like Nate singin because he changed his style a lil bit. This track was soundin hot as hell tho, like it could be instant classic and I usually don't hype up songs 2 much. I hadn't heard anything about it on here so I am assuming it was somethin new they gave the radio, and hopefully it's for Quik's album. If anybody knows somethin about this track, let me kno!

heard some of it on power 106 today.. just the last minute or so, only heard nate singing. his singing style has changed, like rtistic said.. its softer i guess.. like his singing voice isnt as deep. its dope from what i heard. i want to hear the whole thing with quiks verse though.

quiks older shit was harder to play to an uneducated audience, well over where i am anyway, but i think everyone who i been playing this trauma shit to are freaking out and being like woah this is seriously good. i think quiks sound has grown to a level where everyone will have to appreciate him. if his album gets good promotion (if he is that new signing on aftermath that would be tight, but i doubt it somehow) then i think it'll be real successful all over the place. hoping anyway.
oh and if this is a proper cd quality version of the track i don't really agree with the mixing much, which would be a real shame. but i doubt that.

what's quik's label situation right now? do we even know on which label he's dropping trauma? didn't his deal with warner fell through?

yeah, exactly. quik deserves to do huge numbers. and with the right machine behind him it would be doable cause his music is still good, original AND has a mainstream appeal.
