I don't really care one way or the other, but this needed some attention. The guy IMO is obviously a racist prick. I used to think that sort of thing wasn't tolerated on here, maybe I'm wrong.

You're free to make your own conclusions, but if we accept the dictionary definition of racism then it seems pretty clear CWalker is racist, or at least his statement was. According to the dictionary their is a cultural dimension to race, but regardless his words were African, Asian, or Indiginous cultures are inferior. Let's not play word games, its basically the same as saying African, Asian, or Native people are inferior.
If you don't think that's racism I dont really care. To me its just a bit ironic that a hip-hop message board tolerates racism, but to each his own.

To be honest, dude, I really don't care if CWalker gets banned. I just know people been banned for being racist in the past, so I figure I'd point it out and see how people feel. If you want to talk about First World/Third World... developed nations and developing nations... then I have to inform you that Japan is a developed nation.
If you want to talk about capitalism/economies I could give you a list of countries you didn't include where a capitalist system is in use. In addition, I could name several countries where the per capita GDP is higher than that of certain countries in Europe. By the way, Israel is not in Europe, America, or Australia, so do you also want to include Israel in your list? (democracy, capitalism). Since you mentioned democracy... did you know that about 3 billion people in the world are living under "democracies" (by name), and about 1/3 of those are living in India? 1/6 of the world's population is living under a democracy in India.
Now we could also talk about the literal meaning of the word... "the West", which would also include Latin America. You obviously weren't using it in the literal sense then. The term is generally used to refer to richer nations, so some people have decided to use "the North" instead... but then again, Australia would not be on your list.

This is a dumb post. Obviously countries like Japan and India have democracies. But the fact is that democracy arose in Europe. Those countries patterned their governments on those in the west.
As I said before, democracy, capitalism, separation of church and state, human rights, freedom of speech, etc.....these are all concepts that arose in the west and are most widespread in the west. Some other countries may have them.........by following the model of western nations. Western civilization is the shining example for the whole world. So by pointing out other countries that are applying our concepts you are proving my point that our way of life is superior.

True, Im currently doing first year Uni and lecturers take a very left wing appraoch to teaching, maybe because they are educated and although if you make a good conservative argument then you get heard. I agree the ideals of Western civilization are very progressive, but the ideals of equality, tolerance are universal to all civilizations. Remeber the concept of "Western civilization" is fairly ambiguous, for instance how is the concept of separation of church and state upheld in the U.S, religion still finds it's way into politics, frreedom of speech is not an absolute and capitalism in practice can often contradict human rights in the quest for profit. You cannot deal in absolutes.

As much as i don't agree with half the bullshit he says, I don't see what it would achieve by banning him.
Racism occurs worldwide, at least by having his ignorant comments around it gives ya more insight into their ill-directed ideologies and how to handle it when it occurs. Ya can't just go round laying into every racist, it would probably make ya feel better, but violence would only just fuel their racism.

I don't know the situation so I can't really vote on it, so I won't, however racism is one of the things that I find intolerable. You can talk about being tolerant of other's beliefs, and whatnot, but you know...if me not tolerating a racist makes me a hypocrite or whatever, fine...guilty.
I mean, there's a guy on this board (who I don't remember his username) who used to frequent another board that I am a moderator for, who talks up all the west coast hip hop, and how Ice Cube and Daz are awesome and whatnot, and then he starts emailing me all this racist stuff about shaquille O'Neal, because he's a huge Laker Homer. Starts spamming racist slurs against Shaq to my email because he got banned from the site for being abusive.
That's just an example to set up what I'm about to say.
How can someone who is a fan of black culture, as someone would clearly be if they are members of a hip hop board, and taking part in discussions on black culture, spout racist speech and whatnot, against black people?
