I think it's just a bullshit urban legend people use in trivia...It's funny, if you search that on google, all the trivias list that, but there's never any explanation behind it...

That ain't true. In my old environmental studies book it says that there has been a total of 60 billion people on this earth.
Natuarlly if there are 6 billion alive right now, 54 billion arnt (therefore are dead).

It has something to do with the family is considered more important than the individual, its been 3 years since i took japanese so i could be wrong.
