Ant's Recommendations!!! Some Diff shit, check it!
« on: March 06, 2002, 07:05:39 PM »
ight ight i dunno how many of yall gonna appreciate this but im bored so im gonna drop some tracks down here for yall to check out... most of them are kinda different and i garantee not usually listened to by peeps on this board with some exceptions maybe... anywayz without further adeu here are ant's recommendations of the week:

btw this shit aint necesarily recent

1st off some of yall mighta heard of some r n b cat named Calvin Richardson he had a song with K Ci called "ill take her" check that song its a hot tune, but also comin from him peep "loving you" it has the same sample as "worst comes to worst", then check "true love" hot song feature chico debarge on production, and also "i wish he didnt trust me so much".  all nice tracks

Moving on next up a cat named DEEMA, dude is nice, same type of music as Craig David except he is a Rapper, Singer, Producer doing.  Dude is nice, if u DONT like Craig David check "attitude" regardless cuz its a hot track with some dope production.    after that i'd recommend the whole damn album called "no money no style" but highlights include, "one man standing" "no money no style" "snow in june" and shit i cant remmeber ther other names but its like 10 hot tracks off that shit if u into an Craig David sound,  cept dude murders Craig David as far as im concerned

some older shit, speakin of debarge awhile ago they got some hot joints new and old... on the older tip check "all this love" "i like it" and "stay with me"  all of those songs have been sampled recently and are hot tracks on their own.... James Debarge also had a dope collaboration with DJ Quik with a song called "the divorce song" and that song got remixed to be made even hotter with some dude named Won G.. shit rapper but hot jam with a crazy beat laid down by Quik

some other tight Quik Songs that u might not have heard.... toni tone tony had a song with Quik called "boyz and girlz remix" it was on their greatest hits only and pretty rare but dope song if u like Quik and saddiq.   Also another unreleased Quik song called "felonz" samples the same beat as the last song but is even doper, all rapping this time by quik and crew (amg, Hi C, 2nd to none, mausberg) nice ass jam and a ridiculous beat.   finally another unreleased Quik song "inside out" is probably the hottest of his unreleased music, if u a quik fan u need to peep this!

stayiin with the westcoast some older westcoast joints that are pretty dope IMO   Above the Law "never missing a beat" same beat a snoop's "whats my name" originally supposed to feature snoop.  they also had a cut called "black superman" which had a pretty sick synthed out beat!.  stayin old school def peep Souls of Mischief "cabfare" is samples the theme song from Taxi really well.  Fast forwarding on the westcoast scene check out J Flex and Sam Sneed "lady herion" unreleased version... tight i think Dre beat... also King T "dippin remix" is a hot ass track with a similar beat to "lady heroin", "squeeze ya ballz" was supposed to make it on his aftermath album another nice track.   Finally if u havent heard it check Dre "way i be pimpin" used the xxplosive beat and a hot track...  also for those of u that dont know about them "next episode OG", snoop dogg "do u remember" both leftovers from the deathrow era that never saw the light of day and TIGHT tracks.

Some tight new R n B.... Rapheal Saddiq "instant vintage" peep this when it comes out if u like a d'angelo ish album... not quite exactly d'angelo but there is some influence... hot tracks include "be here ft d'angelo"  "still ray" hottest cut on the album and "faithful" but the whole album is pretty well down.

Another album a lot of yall might not have checked for although its been out for awhile is Nelly Furtado "Whoa Nelly" i bought this about a month ago and its a DOPE album... dont expect it to be like the timbaland remix, but it has a lot of dope music every track is good and it fuses like jazz, with dance, techno, r n b, and some latin influence.   REal hot... if u liked "like a bird" most songs are better than that shit.

Finally ill hit yall off with some laid back shit i been peepiing lately and enjoying...  Sade has been out for awhle but her shit is HOT!!! mad chill.  off the last album check "king of sorrows" dope cut, there is also a remix where its blended almost flawlessly with tupac "baby dont cry" very tight... "by your side" and "every word"

ok thats the end for now i didnt have my music collection here so that shit was off the head,  if yall like then hit me back and maybe ill post some more shit... otherwise fuck yall!!!

ight im out though peace!

Yo Ant, i never heard this ABL song that had the same beat as Whats my name, i am gonna check it now.   pEACE

I love her!! I'm always gettin' clowned for likin' her shit, but I don't care. I actually got a chance to see her live in concert a few weeks back.. I really love this girl. She's beautiful, funny, she can sing, and she's reppin' Canada.. Woah Nelly!

Oh yea, I heard she just got done recording a track with The Roots.. can't wait to hear that shit.

Ya, Nelly is dope for sure; she used to be totally into rap, she can still bust.......she always bigs up Swollen Members too, damn they are tight!

Nelly with the Roots will be pretty crazy, likely very dope...
