the big bang was overhyped
« on: June 08, 2006, 09:05:49 PM »
i know there has been a ton of posts on this already but i cant help that feel that this album was really overhyped and not the amazing record made out to be. there are some great tracks on the album but its a bit hit and miss and it feels like that the combination of dre and busta is not nearly as hot as it should of been given their past record. busta sounds like 50 cent with his lazy flow on that over here track, i dunno what they were thinking with that love my bitch song and even touch it wasn't that great really.

a few really good tracks doesn't make a great album for me but the best tracks are deff through the storm, that last one with the shovel sounds and the track with raekwon. you'd also expect something better for the track with nas, bog standard dre beat really, sounds like it would fit on a g-unit album. maybe im being too harsh but it was hyped up way too much, nobody can say dre absolutely killed it and it was a hella long time in the making.

nowadays u judge an album by the hype, the promotion, and the sells, nothing else matter

i haven't listened to the whole album yet so i can't really comment...but i will say that I love my bitch is one of the worst songs i've heard this year...touch it got annoying quick...and the majority of those tracks that leaked before the album actually did were weak

Exactly. But Big Bang is actually one that kinda didnt dissapoint me.

Yeah I Love My Bitch and Ill Do It All are horrible. Thats it imo. Change that with Wheres Your Money and Imagine and you get yourself a near classic.

this was the 'big bang'. if it could easily have been better and i think it could have easily been better, then all in all its a big let down. the game got a better selection of dre beats for the doc.

The Big Lame was definately a yawner. How could this happen with over two years to prepare?. It was just missing some flare or some g-funk or something. Very flat. Will sell 1.5 mill.

I'm on the same boat wit you except I still can't get sick of 'Touch It'. Why, I don't know. But the biggest dissapointment to me was after all the millions of leaked records only 15 made the album. Again, I didn't hear the complete album so I can't say too much..................yet....but yes the songs was weak. Nothing blew me away. The one wit Stevie, the one wit Rick, they were nice tracks..nothing amazing. However 'Get You Some' is sick as hell.
