after E40 sold 500 000 copies of his last album and became known to mainstream after numerous years in the game and many albums release one girl said on TRL: THE BEST NEW RAPPER IS E40 !!

But E-40 never really fell off. Breakin News, Grit & Grind, & Loyalty and Betrayal while not succesful albums, did manage to sell okay numbers (I'm pretty sure they all sold over 200K). With all the buzz around his last album (working with Lil Jon, hit single, bring hyphy to the mainstream) only selling 475K is a little disapointing when comparing it to the sales of the 3 albums I mentioned.

Yeah, but it served it's purpose, putting the Bay back in the mainstream. I am sure 40 is cool with that at the end of the day. And gold for today's standards is not bad at all.

No doubt, I'm just saying he never fell off.

fa sho, 40 is still one of my favorites from the west. Good to see him get some nationwide support.
