« on: December 07, 2001, 06:49:37 AM »
Im planning on making a micheal jackson cd which will have
Unreleased or rare tracks plus released tracks i don't have.
At the moment i have got the following tracks for my CD..

Call On Me (unreleased)
Can't Get Outta The Rain (Unreleased) * (theres no singing just chorus after chorus)
On The Line [Unreleased]
Someone Put Your Hand Out(Unreleased)
Mind Is The Magic (Unreleased)
Ghost of Jealousy (never got the BIOTDF album)
Is It Scary
Morphine
Superfly Sister
music and me * (brill but too old)
Why (mike & 3T)
We are the world * (Not enough of mike)
2300 Jackson Street * (as above)
Can you feel it

Some of these im not gonna bother putting on the CD (the tracks with stars)
as there just guest appearances and not enough of mike on them.

Basically can you recommend any mike tracks which are rare/unreleased that are
GOOD and worth downloading.

Actually, I've only heard a couple unreleased Michael Jackson tracks, he owns all the masters, and hardly any have ever leaked out.  There's a few, but nothing noteworthy that I know of.  Just so you know, On the line was on a single, it's not unreleased, same thing with someone put your hand out.  Look into the bad/thiller/off the wall re-releases they just put out, they all have unreleased tracks on them, like a long version of thriller.  Ya might wanna get into some of his remixes too, the blood on the dance floor album was actually very good, like the "too bad" remix had a couple verses from John Forte, etc.  Is it scary off that album is awesome, ghosts is great, superfly sister is a great song too.

Oh, and one of mike's all time greatest songs, "somebody's watching me" with Rockwell.  Ha, great song.  He's also mixed into the background of SWV's Right Here/Human Nature remix.

Peace

Oh, and have you ever noticed there's never a michael jackson coversong?  He has a unique voice, most people don't try to cover his stuff.  But if you want a good cover song, download Brandy & Heavy D's version of "Rock With You" off Quincy Jones "Q's Jook Joint" Album.  Great song, and Heavy D and brandy both do a good interpretation of it, they change it around a little bit.

Thanks for the info. I actually think "Morphine" and "Is it Scary" are some of the best tracks he's ever made.

as for somebody's watching me" with Rockwell, im off to get that now.

By the way just wondering what do u Honestly think of Invincible. Me i think micheal has perfected his voice and he SINGS better on this album than Any of his other albums. I love Invincible but its only flaw is innovation. Everytime he makes an album there are new sounds and tracks which just re-write the rule book for pop. But he really doesn't do that on this album.

The album is tight though and i can't stop listening to it.

Also do u have any idead why he parted with Quincy and why hasn't he worked with him for this album.

I think he probably parted with Quincy because quincy was probably too controlling for mike's tastes.  I think mike would do much better to bring quincy back, and let quincy mold him a little bit into some songs instead of him picking producers that are just thankful to be in the studio with him.

I agree, is it scary is one of his best songs of all time, it's a shame people didn't buy that album more, it's great.  Some of those remixes are off the chain, too.  It's the biggest selling remix album of all time, btw.  I love the lyrics to is it scary "I am gonna be, exactly what cha wanna see, if you'll just talk to me, am I the ghoul you seek, am I the beast you visualize? well, if you came to see, excentricalities, i'll be grotesque before your eyes, let the moment come to lifeeeeeee; Is that scary for ya baby?"  or something like that.  Awesome lyrics.

Invincible - I think it's a great album, I think it blows away any other pop album out right now, n*sync, britney spears, all them have no artistry compared to this album.  You're correct about his voice, it sounds better on this album than it ever has in his career, he's perfected it.  1 thing people never say about him is that he's one of the greatest singers ever, he honestly has what, about 6 different voices he can use at will? He's got the pissed off voice, the crying voice, the strong gospel voice, the friendly pop voice, the soft spoken child voice, the silky r&b voice... that's the most amazing thing about his vocals, I think, is how he mixes different styles in every song.  Like Heaven can wait, he sings R&B the whole time, it's perfect, then @ the end, he's got a really strong Gospel Black voice, it's great.

Anyways, I think some of it's innovative, like speechless is, the lost children is, butterflies is, threatened is, whatever happens is.... then much of the album is just good 'safe' material that doesn't stray far from what's standard on the radio... like 'you rock my world', 'don't walk away', 'break of dawn', 'heaven can wait', 'invincible', etc.  Then there's a few songs I don't like, like 'privacy' , 'you are my life', and 'invincible'.

I get the feeling listening to the album and just watching how he acts that he was pretty depressed when doing this album; i think he had a lot of doubts about how he'd be received and probably recorded a ton of uninspired searching, mediocre songs to begin with... then I heard 6 months or so before it came out, he scrapped most of the album for newer songs he'd been working on... whatever happens, break of dawn, and butterflies are 3 of those...

I think one of the things that always made him huuuuuge too was his image, and his dance moves; his videos after they come out really make the songs better, like who doesn't SEE the vid for thriller when they hear the song, you know? it makes the song much better... when you rock my world came out, I didn't feel it too much, but after the video, the song's really good now, because you visualize what he's singing about.  I think after more videos come out, the album will be even better...

All in all, I think it's a great album... probably an 8.5 or 9ish album, only a couple songs I don't like, and even those I think some parts of it are genius.  For instance, privacy is all about Princess Di, he was friends with her, and he's talking about how the press killed his friend, and maybe he's next.... I just don't really like the song, but the subject matter is excellent.  You are my life, some of the time his voice sounds great on, but I just don't feel how slow it is... the harmonies in the chorus though are some of the best on the album.  It's always like that with him, even when the song's sh*t, there's things on it that are top-rate stuff other acts only dream about.

peace~
