After my first listen-through of Regal Muzick I gotta say it aint quite what I expected. It might seem uninspiried of me to say but I felt that this album was a bit more bland than the Tsoul Ghetto material. on there (Tsoul Ghetto) Clinton was really showing that rap can be something different that just flaunty a meaningless, non-excisting, life-style of woman and violence but can really be about real life emotions and just everyday struggles. On this new one though, I kindda felt that it was leaning more towards a commercially "acceptable" content of lyrics. Please take this comment with a grain of oregano though, as I have only listened to the whole thang once
..The last line says "when me and trunk was on the block, and we didnt have no chains, all we did was have dreams, kuz we were bigger than bling". Shamone Man. P.S. Still no Cussing
I'd have to disagree, If you pay attention to tracks like "Clintro", "Im Scrait", "The Gospel" "Kalling On U", this is exactly his angle. Clinton is about as honest and as real as it gets as an artist because he is not afraid to talk about his weaknesses while boasting his strengths. Tsoul Ghetto represents a different time in the artist's life, where Regal Muzik displays a time in life where he is coming off of some life changing experiences and a new sense of focus. Clinton is still a positive artist that is just honest about his own personal weaknesses and doesnt try to make himself sound more righteous than the next man.
