The Game Live @ HMH Amsterdam 21/12/06
« on: December 26, 2006, 07:57:59 AM »
It was Game time at a crowded Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam last Thursday as the BWS CEO was scheduled to perform there for the second time since his breakaway from a certain Unit.

People of all ages and races looked on when DJ Crystal began to play snippets of West Coast classics to get the crowd hyped up for the evening, blunts were being lit and hands were thrown in the air while the music blasted through the speakers. Red rags, red hoodies, red T-shirts, G-Unot shirts, BWS shirts and hoodies... Amsterdam was ready for the Hurricane!

Finally the self proclaimed savior of West Coast Hip Hop appeared, starting the show with his latest album's opening cut Lookin At You. Even though he said he was not feeling well Game looked like he was ready to bring it like only he can bring it. West Coast hand signs and yes even hand signs that are associated with the color red could be seen waving in the air as Jayceon ripped through songs from both his debut and sophomore album like Da Shit, Compton, Hate It Or Love It, Put You On The Game, Scream On Em and ofcourse Let's Ride. Any assumptions of him chilling out on the beef with the Unit and its boss were quickly dismissed as he yelled the F word everytime before he called them all out by name, except for the Posse that is Mashed Out that is...
On a more positive note he gave it up for hip hop/R&B's fallen soldiers and gave a special shout out to Eazy-E before going on the subject that has the hip hop world wondering till this day. The doctor referred to in the title of his second album was given an honourable mention and as the crowd seemed to give screams of approval Game began his performance of Doctor's Advocate.
Half way the show people from the audience were challenged to have a drinking/smoking contest with Mr. Chuck Taylor. Three dudes from the crowd were pulled on stage to smoke blunts almost the size of Game's microphone and as the instrumenal of Da Shit kept playing he showed everybody that even a person who's feeling ill could still drink up a bottle of Grey Goose within a couple of minutes.
BWS future star Juice was also in attendance but sadly he only served as Game's hypeman and did not perform any verses, a missed chance because it would have been great
to see him and Game do some of the songs from the BWS Journal mixtape.
Before the show was about to come to an end Game asked everybody who was rocking something red to join him on stage. After his request 40 to 50 people stood on stage
and they all went into a frenzy when Junior Reed's voice from the intro to One Blood could be heard. Unfortunately it became a bit redundant after Game performed the song about six times even though he only did the first two verses everytime. That and the fact that Juice didn't get the chance to shine that night were the only real letdowns of an otherwise great show by one of the most controversial and popular hip hop artists at the moment.

Besides all the drama and BS the good Doctor can still be proud of another solid West Coast artist that came out from under his wing..

Special shout out as usual to Crooked "DB's Finest" J for the pics!
