Yes, I would be mad. If I'm Detroit, I'm saying why not Bosh? Who's happy with just 1 championship, it's all about creating the greatest DYNASTIES.

Bosh would have been a great fit though IMO, but if they drafted Bosh they might never have traded for Rasheed...so who knows..

Who cares, it still works out much better in the long run...Imagine a Chris Bosh+Ben Wallace front court...They coulda' been kings of the East for years and years.

Mosav is basically saying the same thing I see....they definitely wouldn't have traded for Sheed, and they wouldn't have had that same dynamic...and Bosh n Ben sounds great, but there are about 10-15 duos and trios that we have seen that sound amazing, but haven't turned out for the good. Imagine if Dirk and Steve Nash never played on the Mavs together....the thought of those two together just sounds like an automatic championship. Especially T-Mac and Yao....before it happened, everybody KNEW, and I mean KNEW, that it was the next Kobe and Shaq tandem.

So yeah...I just think the stars were alligned for the Pistons that year, and they may have possibly had a dynasty in the future, but it's no guarantee at all that they would have won one ring, let alone have 3-4.

Well, what I'm saying is that they ruined their whole future for one championship, going by your logic of "good thing we drafted Darko"...I really think Bosh woulda' made a great fit in Detroit, and they'd have easily beaten the Heat last year and remained on top of the East this year if they had him...TMac and Yao can never be the next Kobe and Shaq cuz TMac ain't Kobe and Yao ain't Shaq...Steve Nash and Dirk can never win a championship together cuz they're two players who play pretty much pure offense...Bosh and Wallace are perfect in the front-court, cuz their games compliment eachother, Bosh on the offense, and Ben on the defense...Unstoppable. Horrible draft pick, any way you look at it.

Yeah that makes sense, I definitely think it was a terrible pick regardless. It is a bit similar to Miami's situation though...Shaq's on his last leg, and I don't see them winning anything else anytime soon, although I couldn't really see them winning if they had kept Lamar and Caron.

I am still doin some "research" just for fun/boredom at work...and for some reason, #2 picks have had a terrible history since 96. In their best seasons, the 3rd, 4th, and 5th picks have averaged more PPG than the 2nd picks from 96-2004. I might do this for the 1-13 picks since 96, just to see the patterns and all else.
