Warren G promo review!!!
« on: October 04, 2001, 01:54:04 PM »
Wassup y'all, i am new to the board, but i've been down with the westcoast a LONG time.  Man, you peeps MUST hear this Warren G if you haven't, it is crazy shit! Here is a small review...

1.  Young locs Slow down ft. WC, Butch Cassidy
-yo, this song has a crazy smooth beat and Butch drops a very NICE chorus, W.C. is aiight.
The real treat is OGLB, from the end of This D.J., does a tight outro.  All in all, a VERY NICE song.

2.  Yo Sassy Ways ft. Snoop, Nate
-the song everyone is waiting for, and it starts off tight with Taadow (Ricky Harris, off All the old DPGC skits, vids, etc.) doing a nice intro like he did on Doggydogg world
-Warren does not sound his best, but he provides a tight mellow beat, snoop comes through, Nate is Nate.  The song is not the shit everyone is expecting from 213, but damn it is nice

3.  Village Ghetto
  - All i can say is, what the fuck, there is a crazy ass singer or sample on the chorus, it is actually kinda cool.  Warren sounds on point on this song, the beat is great, and gets even better during the chorus.  A feel good song, like the last two.

4.  Here Comes Another Hit ft. Nate Dogg and ???
 -  the beat is uptempo, although a tad annoying but i am sure it will grow on me.  Nate is amazing on this song, yet he doesn't even steal the show.  Leave that to whoever it is who is doing the second verse, this guy rips it with a WEIRD flow.  Someone, who is this guy? Let me know (Hopefully it is not someone obvious).  Anyway, this song again is hella dope.

5.  Somethin to Bounce to ft. Soopafly
-  Warren sayin he put LBC and Snoop on the map and he is right.  THis is G-funk right here, i am feelin this shit like crazy and Soopafly sounds dope with the sing song style he used on Like it or Not.

6.  Lovin Me Now ft. Butch Cassidy
-  Warren sounds too hard on this track, and the beat is the worst on the promo.  At first i didn't like this song much, but then Butch dropped a great chorus and out of nowhere comes CPO Boss Hog.  Some people hate him, i love him (in small doses).  All in all, a pretty tight song actually

7.  G-Funk is Here TO Stay ft. Kokane and _________
-  I wasn't too excited about this song as i didn't wanna here Kokane on Warren's album ( i don't mind him though on this song, he not whining like a bitch, LOL ha ha).
-  So, guess who raps back and forth with Warren?  MISTA GRIMM from Indo Smoke, and gues who does the outro...Warren as the G-Child(you know that crazy voice he do sometimes back in the day).  This song is VERY tight.  Holy shit, i am a happy dude

So, as you can see, Warren comes correct with these seven songs.  I was worried after i heard Looking At YOu ( i like it, just not what i was expectin) but damn am I excited.  If the rest of the album is like this, we WILL have  a westcoast classic and Warren's best album since Regulator.  This is dope guys, EVERYONE down with westcoast cannot dispute this sounds like some classic shit.  Or maybe i am just biased cuz i love Warren G as much as Bigg Bpg love Snoop (much love BPG).  Peace
