New album reviews
« on: April 04, 2007, 05:47:41 PM »
I'm just gonna rate some of the new shit that has recently came out and ya'll gimme your latest reviews:

Evidence-Weatherman LP - This is the CD of the year so far, bangin' beats, nice featured artists, hardcore flowin' by Ev, and overall solid record, I don't even really like Dilated Peoples that much but this CD is a totally different sound. Best Songs: Mr. Slow Flow, Letyourselfgo, and Chase The Clouds Away. 4.5/5

Timbaland-Shock Value - The CD was better than I thought it was gonna be.  He has a pretty good chemistry with most of the artists on this album, even Justin does aight on "Bounce".  He has a couple beats that are a little too poppy but the CD is nice.  Best songs: 2 Man Show, Boardmeeting, and Bounce. 3.5/5

Redman-Red Gone Wild - Like Timbaland's album I was skeptical but this CD brought back grimey East Coast hip hop.  Redman is back to flowin' like he really can and he gets pretty sick production.  This album reminds me of back in the Muddy Watters days, although not as classic, it still bangs hard.  Best songs: Merry Jane, Blow Treez, Supaman Lova 6 & 6 1/2, and Put It Down. 4/5

Prodigy-Return Of The Mac - This album was actually pretty good.  The beats he chose brought it back to the 30's and 40's, some smooth Jazz and R&B on the tracks.  I always thought Prodigy sounded like he still had some of the flow he had back in the Murda Muzik days, in this CD he actually releases it. Best Songs: 7th Heaven, Stuck On You, Nickel And A Nail. 3.5/5

J Dilla-Ruff Draft - I never really got into Dilla until he released The Shining, now I can't get enough of him.  Donuts was fuckin' sick and everything else I've heard from him is incredible.  Ruff Draft is more of the same.  Dilla still flexes his production muscle but in this one  he shows his rhyming ability too.  That smoothed out R&B feel still sounds bananas and I don't think i'll ever get tired of it.  Best Songs: Interlude, Crushin', Take Notice, and Wild. 4/5

Little Brother-And Justus For All - Little Brother never ceases to impress me.  After the whole deal with 9th Wonder they still release another classic mixtape.  This album just doesn't let up, it's full of souled out tracks along with Phontigga and Pooh rappin' like maniacs once again.  I can't wait for Get Back.  Best songs: Last Day, Do It To Death, Can't Stop Us, Never Leave. 4.5/5

Sean Price-Jesus Price Supastar - SEAN P.!!!!! Probably the most gangsta out of the Boot Camp Sean P lets people have it again.  With his swagger and of course a dope selection of beats from Dru Ha, 9th Wonder, Khrysis, and others. The featured artists are all heavyweights also such as: Phonte, Skyzoo, Boot Camp of course, Chaundon, and Sadat X.  This CD has been in rotation in my ride for about a whole month now. Best songs: Violent, Cardiac, Church, and P-Body. 4/5

Havnet checked Red yet, I heard it was fire. Didn't even know LB put out anything this year either, and I'm not a big Dilated fan either, but after hearing all the reviews, I might check out that Evidence.
