T.I. comments on Detox....
« on: March 03, 2009, 09:56:31 PM »
The leak of a new Dr. Dre song featuring T.I. has sparked speculation about the King of the South's involvement in Dre's upcoming Detox project.

T.I. refused to confirm his appearance on the highly anticipated album.

"All I can say is look forward to it. You never know who you might hear collaborating together or what you might be able to expect from that project. I'm just telling you to look forward to it. It's going to be one for the record book. He ain't lost a step." (SOHH)  8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

I do not want G-Funk that music is timeless in itself but it sounds dated.

I Wouldn't mind hearing a couple G Funk tracks, but a whole album that sounds like "The Chronic" all over again wouldn't be cool.  Hell maybe even half the album of G Funk tracks I'd be cool with, but not a whole new album of it.  I wanna hear some diversity from Dr. Dre, not just "2001" or "The Wash" soundtrack all over again.  For all that time I've/we've been waiting on a new Dr. Dre album and for him to just come out and do some "westcoast" only shit would be dumb (truely), Dr. Dre is what 42 or something like that, being stuck in the past is just something a successful businessman couldn't do, let alone a grown ass man.  I'm wit' TI and Wayne (no Young Wayne Newton) on Detox, hell I'd even be down wit' Kanye West on it or Marilyn Manson or Willie Nelson bangin out some hard shit on it.  But you can't bang out a "classic" G Funk album anymore no matter how hard u try, it's kinda like bringing the sound from the 30's back and expecting to change the game again.  Besides with opinions coming from everywhere in this day and age, the word classic has no meaning unless it was used to describe something from 2000 and before.  But of course, we're all young now, imagine when our grandkids will be calling "Lean Wit' It, Rock Wit' It" a classic or "Marco Polo" lol I'm sure there will be plenty of debates going on at tha BBQ's and Barmitzvas then.
