Tech Nine talks about collaboration with Lil Wayne
« on: September 18, 2010, 12:24:27 AM »

Tech Nine...  Lil Wayne...  We've seen the recent lame cross-over attempts by Tecca Nina (his last 3 videos) and we already know the type of shit Lil Wayne is currently on right now..

This will either be hit or miss..  I hope they try to make an album track and not a mainstream single.

Tech is killing it right now, no matter who you talk to in the music industry from major label execs to independents everybody is looking up to Tech's movement and trying to achieve something similar... It's about time for him to get that major look, Tech is a superstar it just took the world a long time to realize it. After Jay-Z and Kanye, Tech made the MOST touring money last year, as an independent. He's killing it.

Him and Weezy together should be a good look.

Tech is in my overall Top 10 Hip-Hop artists no doubt and Wayne has proven before he's capable of dropping classic songs, hope this collabo is all it can be.

i agree. it's about time.. tech should've blowned up 10 years ago - it's blasphemy it took so long.. he is more talented than 95percent of all these rappers..  fuck some of these underground fans - tech 9ne belongs to everybody, n obviously he wants this himself, so why hate? be happy for him... that Eminem-collaboration will probably happen, they were both on that "The Anthem" song back in the day - plus, Em collaborated wit Ganxta Ridd (from Boo-Yaa), so why not Tech N9ne?

Yeah, Tech Nine has the best managers and promoters.  His team knows what's up.   They will grind out every little nowhere town that there is for a show.

They look at the sales from the strange music store and if they see a lot of sales in one particular area they do a show there.

Brilliant if you ask me.

I can see where you're coming from, but what I'm thinking is this: If you can make a great living as an underground artist, why would you try to archieve mainstream fame? Isn't Tech in the best position you can be in right now? I'm not knocking Tech, but I personally hope he stays as far away as possible from pop stars like Lil Wayne.

Well I think Tech was purposely careful to say he was astonished that someone of that stature reached out to him, he didn't say anything else about his skills or if he liked his music lol.   If you could have a mainstream platform and still put out the same music, would you?  Of course.  You want as many ppl to listen to your music as possible.

A little bit of relief in this is the fact that it's Lil Wayne.  He is able to make any kind of music, and fans and labels will be down with it.  No one even cares if his shit flops.  He will always be an attention receiving artist now, whether he's selling physical product or not.  I think Tech will have quite a bit of creative input in this collab.

And besides, Tech's been making some corny club songs lately, hate it or love it he was already steering towards this route.  But that's only a single, the albums usually got the vintage Tech we like...  I'm not too worried.

It's just a guest spot that will get his name out there.
He already has the mass appeal this will probably be enough for him to get a few 100 more fans.

And tech n9ne doesn't pay/get paid for verses, he just asks for a reciprocal later.
