First pick in fantasy football draft
« on: August 22, 2011, 04:13:59 PM »
I go the first pick tomorrow and want everyone's opinion on who I should take. Obviously a QB, but who? I was thinking of picking my boy Philip Rivers since he had 30 TDs and lead the league in passing despite most of his WRs missing significant time last season. Help a brother out. I don't pick for 22 more selections, so this can make or break me.

Uh, no. Running Back is the first pick.

Adrian Peterson, Jamaal Charles or Arian Foster. Take your pick.

Took Adrian Foster with my first pick. Had a so-so draft, IMO. Here's my team:

QB     Brees, Drew (QB NO)
RB     Foster, Arian (RB HOU)
RB     Best, Jahvid (RB DET)
WR    Welker, Wes (WR NE)
WR    Garcon, Pierre (WR IND)
WR    Floyd, Malcom (WR SD)
TE    Gates, Antonio (TE SD)
K      Rackers, Neil (K HOU)
DST  Chargers (DST SD)

RES  Garrard, David (QB JAC)
RES  Mathews, Ryan (RB SD)
RES  McGahee, Willis (RB DEN)
RES  Burleson, Nate (WR DET)
RES  Branch, Deion (WR NE)

Drew Brees is an amazing fantasy QB. But with the addition of Sproles & Ingram, I feel his numbers will be slightly worse than previous years; unless they just abuse the playaction lol.

Foster is probably the best player in the draft. The Texans are one of the more physical teams in football, he'll be sure to get his touches all season. I'd take AP because I know what I'm getting, but Foster has more room for improvement if he continues to develop. Like it.

Jahvid Best is a strong #2 RB; like it.

Wes, great fantasy WR. Brady's favorite target. Only knock is that the Pats have so many ways to utilize their weapons in the red-zone, he may not be catching TD's for you.

Garcon will be good if Peyton is 100%. His numbers completely rely on Peyton's play.

Floyd is great & Gates is the best TE in the game.

Your bench blows, but it's okay because as long as you don't get nailed by Bye weeks, you're straight. I'm feelin' that team.

That's my specialty. 8) Every year I swoop up some quality players from the waiver wire.
