Great post. Side Note. I forgot how much I love that song "If U Stay Ready" Classic in every sense of the word. This album was highly influentual to me when I was just a young buck in 1997 at only 17 years old.

Also classic but for a different reason...less smooth more hard with a couple extra lines and no playa Hamm

Because if not then I've never heard it either and would be interested in discovering it?
I love Quik musicAnd everyday we got a new surprise, a new sample or just a new inspiration used by himin this case isn't necessary a sample, it's a ''interpolation" w/ live instruments [Rob Bacon]STRINGS 0:03 to 0:18https://www.youtube.com/v/BU0Vu5AmLlUIF U STAY READY - STRINGShttps://www.youtube.com/v/eoUz_q7Qi5oPS: Quik had already used a KC AND SUNSHINE BAND sample from the same KC album, way before Street Gospelhttps://www.youtube.com/v/XByfcUxJAKohttps://www.youtube.com/v/ZLQ1ecggGpI"i never missed what i never had"MUSICAL GENIUS!

Not even a little bit. Y'all need y'all ears checked or at least a few good q-tips. If you want to hear a sample of the I Get Lifted strings, check either Biggie's Respect or Snoop's Gin & Juice. But damn sure not this. If you wanna go DJ QUIK, the strings on When Jesus Comes are closer to I Get Lifted.

The only thing they share is they're both strings lol. Nothing the same about them. Yes it was reworked alright lol because one doesn't have nothing to do with the other. You study a lot of Quik & know some shit but hour ears are suspect. If I'm not mistaken you the same cat that swore up & down that new YG single was a Battlecat production when you know damn well it sounds nothing like a beat he would do. Get that ear exam bruh. Again, When Jesus Comes is more of an interpolation of I Get Lifted. dj quik worked differently the riff in the begining..
