Should Evander Holyfield Retire?
« on: July 03, 2003, 02:49:39 PM »
How many of you think that Evander Holyfield should retire from boxing?

I beleive that he should retire before he can't talk or become a vegetable.

Lennox Lewis was asked on the Dan Patrick by Rob Dibble what he thought about Holyfield and Lewis said that it was just sad to see Holyfield the way he is now.

Some of you guys are talking about Roy Jones Jr., and the question was about Evander Holyfield.

He's rich, he should retire.  Boxing isn't like wrestling where you can be protected by the other guy in the ring, so of course boxers can't get as old as wrestlers can.  That's my built in answer for why Evander should and Hogan shouldn't.

In Holyfield's last fight vs Chris Byrd the number of jabs that Byrd landed was 154 and the number of jabs the Holyfield landed was 3 or 4. So you know you have to quiet when you only land 3 jabs in 12 rounds of boxing.

Holyfield said he's not retiring because he wants another Championship belt.
