Jersey City police and the NYPD are reviewing a video surveillance tape recovered from the Double Tree Hotel in Jersey City, with hopes of identifying a dozen men that were with rapper 50 Cent when gunfire erupted.

The hotels security and employees heard the shots, but didnt witness the shootings, but eyewitnesses accounts described a lone male gunman.

Police found spent shell casings from a.40 and a .45 caliber gun in a nearby parking lot and are trying to determine if 50s entourage was attacked or if they fired first.

Police Chief Ronald Buonocore suggested that arrest warrants may be issued in regards to the incident for lack of cooperation, but said witnesses would be given an opportunity to come forward without using warrants

According to reports, gunplay erupted outside of Jersey Citys Double Tree Hotel prompting rapper 50 Cent, members of his entourage and bodyguards to flee in several SUVs.

50 and crew arrived at the hotel just after midnight to check in.

A parking attendant that was present heard the volley of gunfire as a dozen men from the rapper's entourage were approaching the side entrance of the hotel.

When officers arrived, the attendant said he went to call the police and 50 and his entourage hopped into their SUVs and left.

On September 1, Shadaha Jah Bey, was gunned down in Queens, New York. Beys father said that his son worked security for 50 Cents G-Unit crew.

Days afterwards, Murder Inc. rapper Gerard “D.O. Cannon Fields was subsequently gunned down in Queens.

Authorities have dismissed the two homicides as being linked, saying that Cannons slaying was the result of a dispute, in which he allegedly tried kill another unidentified man.

Despite having a description of Fields killer and a motive, New York police have yet to arrest anyone in relation to his murder.

Police in Jersey City, New Jersey, want 50 Cent and the people who were traveling with him early Tuesday morning to turn themselves in for questioning about shots that were fired at a hotel around midnight last night.

According to police, not long after 50 and members of his crew stepped inside the Doubletree Hotel in Jersey City, shots were fired. Police investigating the crime scene don't know what type of guns were used, but they found 10 shell casings from two different caliber of bullets in front of the hotel and 200 feet away from the Doubletree in a tire shop, the window of which was shattered by a bullet.

A hotel surveillance camera caught the entire incident on tape, officers said. Police are analyzing the footage to determine if someone was firing on 50 and company and if the rapper's associates fired as well. Police do not know at this point if anyone was injured.

Eyewitnesses told police that after the incident, 50 was whisked away in his SUV.

Police are giving 50 Cent five days to turn himself in before they issue a warrant for his arrest. 50's rep said the rapper is now in Los Angeles shooting the video for the G-Unit single "Stunt 101"
