Recomend me some "Street Beats"...
« on: October 14, 2003, 04:22:13 PM »
Whats up, Im making a somewhat underground cd right now with some street shit on it....Nothing commercial anyway. Im sure people like Tom, Lincoln ect can help me out with this.

Im not looking for anything like DMX, BIG, or Mobb Deep, Im thinking more along the lines of Boot Camp and Afu Ra type shit...

Just some raw hiphop please.

Thanks in Advance,

smooth da hustler - broken language

that's a good one, another smooth da hustler is Dollar Bill
Paris - Lay Low
dead prez- 50 in the cup
Public Enemy - Kevorkian
PE - LSD
Bang Em Smurf - What's Beef (50 Cent Diss)
Boo Yaa Tribe - Take Yo Fade w/Eastwood, Crooked I Kokane
Brotha Lynch Hung & C-Bo - Gangsta (Fuck A Hoe) w/Kam
Casual - I Didn't Mean To (nice pimp-style track)
Del The Funky Homosapien - Del's Nightmare

I'll think of more that should keep you occupied for now.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

You can't discuss raw hiphop without mentioning M.O.P.
95% of their tracks is raw as fuck.

Yeah, I know you like it smoother, but you can't get more raw than M.O.P. in hiphop..
Most of their beats are designed to ruin your PC-speakers, but in a good system or car it bumps something seriously.. try W.O.L.V.E.S. or "Stand Clear" on high volume.. now that's "street beats".  8)
