Is Suge Knight a Smart/Good Business man??? hmmmm
« on: February 06, 2004, 03:51:18 AM »
I don't think so. He can make good decisions, but he can't implement his expectations. People say that Suge will make his company rise once more.. I highley doubt that. As much as I would like to see tha row on top of things I don't think it will happen.

I think the main reason for the success of tha row was artists like Dre, 213, DPG all together. Look at how sucessful Snoop is with radio and tv time. Dr Dre's production is very popualr on the airwaves!!! Suge Knight was just some big tough guy to show authority. For Tha Row to be on top they need a good formula. A bunch of talented young and dedicated artists that are hungry, very hungry. Snoop, Dre, Warren, Nate, Daz they were all hungry. DeathRow had so much help in the early 90's. Don't try to build on pumping up just one artist. Get a gang of young artists who are very talented and hungry.

Chronic 2000 era, with the likes of J.Valentine, Crooked, Soopafly, YGD, and more where all ready to go. What happened??

i'm one that believes death row's success was purely due to dre.

they wouldnt have got the chances they did without dre being there when they started.

When a label is SO successful like Death Row was, it's not due to one man's skills. Never. It's a combination of a lot of things! Dr. Dre beefing with Eazy E and N.W.A., leaving Ruthless and founding Death Row with Suge, the "gangsta" cred of the label, the new image of Suge as a real Boss, Snoop Doggy Dogg explosion, the DPG, then Pac. It's not only Dre. Cause Death Row sold maybe better without Dre, when Pac was alive. It's the fact that, all of a sudden, they've lost Dre, Pac, Suge, Snoop. It's an execution, no labels in the world can do good business without stars, and Death Row's only star since Snoop left was been Crooked I. But too late, and too complicated (with Daz ready to bootleg his version of Bad Guy and ready to ask him 25 millions for every penny Suge gets with DR). We have had a wonderful label back in the days, with the best rappers from the West all in a label, working as a team. A dream. Now the label is dead. I dont like when ppl try to blame only 1 person or to give props only to 1 person. Cause it's wrong. It's happened. Point. Life goes on.

Death Row never would have happened without Suge.  He's the one that made the idea happen.  Dre's the one that made it a success.

the hiphop business today is totally diffrent  from the golden era!
in todays music industry u can give a wack artist an image some magazine ads a video with some bitches n pretty mofuckas
n then that shit will sell 100 % its all about marketing a product to a wide audience of listeners n custumers n  the big recordlabels control evry damn thang
man its not like Suge dont got young hungry artists its the thing that he thinks that he can do it on his own once again independantly but that shit dont work no more he needs to spend money on promotion etc. or he needs to pull some smart publicity stunt that creates attention n controversy
