1. Labor - Short first track with nice production from blockhead. The albums center theme is labor in life, as introduced here - 4/5
2. daylight - blockhead lays down some production that is catchy yet obscure... real nice shit here from aesop, one of his most accessible pieces - 5/5
3. save yourself - yet more dope production, with the theme of the song basically being don't try to fix hip hop, cause it ain't broken - 4.5/5
4. flashflood - this is the big f-l-a-s-h-f-l-o-o-d - 4/5
5. no regrets - aesop spits a story about a girl who drew all the time, and than when she got older she became a more accomplished artist, and than said before she died that she didn't live a dream because a dream is something you always hope to do but never will, she did what she wanted to and than died blah... - 4.5/5
6. one brick - nice production, the other mc on the track, illogic really impresses here - 5/5
7. the tugboat complex pt. 3 - more nice shit what can i say - 4/5
8. coma - one of the first singles with a dope ass beat - 4.5/5
9. battery - one of my favorites, with dope strings and a sax sample - 5/5
10. boombox - another single, sha na na - 3.5/5
11. bent life - 4/5
12. the yes and the yall - 4.5/5
13. 9-5ers anthem - everyone can relate to this one - 4.5/5
14. shovel - 4/5
aesop puts out an amazing hip hop lp for the 2001. His vocab knowledge and flow is so ahead of anything out there right now, which makes it hard to comprehend everything he's spittin, but who the hell cares this shit is dope. Although Blockhead's production differs from el-p's, his shit is basically on el-p's level; which means some of the best you'll hear. if you like this check his other lp "float" which features various mc's such as slug of atmosphere and vast aire of cann ox. Also check out his superb ep, some of his best work, "appleseed."
