So I'm going to my 1st concert....

sup fellas. well, i'm headin down to seattle on june 6th to kick off summer vacation. i'm goin with three buddies of mine and this is gonna be our 1st live concert. it's dj quik at the showbox theatre. so, seeing as i have no experience goin to concerts at all (we're from alaska  ), i thought i would get some advice from y'all. the concert starts at 9:00PM and the doors open at 8:00PM. what time should we get there? how early should we get there to try to see an appearance by quik?... to get close to the stage? etc etc, any other stuff you think we should know. thanx homies!

damn u lucky bastard, i hope quik will come to netherlands any time soon to give a concert... my first concert was about 2 years ago (G-unit concert goddamit) and it was in a huge hall so i was there about 45/50 mins before it started and had to wait for like 20 mins before i got in, and it was already packed inside, so i dunno how big quik's concert will be, because i also went to montell jordan 3 months ago and i was there @ 10 pm and there where only 5 ppl in the club  depends how big the place is where he gives his concert i guess

quik would be sick...i thought about goin but i dont think i will...but lemme tell you this...i've been to the showbox sooooooooooo many times...more times than i can count on all my fingers and toes...and it is easily my favorite venue in seattle...except for rap concerts...the sound for rap concerts suck...its built for rock concerts

well..my general rule of thumb is to just arrive one hour after their specified start time, so 9:30-10PM in this case. but if its your first concert, you might feel more comfortable just getting there at 8:30 or even 9:00. but if u want your spot in front of the stage, you might just need to start waiting at 8. but quik prob wont even come on till 10-10:30.

right on dude,but, you have to think....quik has a live band, so it will probably be a good ass experience.

I just went to my first concert last year. It was Nappy Roots, BG and Marques Houston, I loved it, Definitely get there early to get in the front, it is so hype up there, and dance. I hope you love it! If there's a VIP option, do that, that's what I had and I got to go backstage and one of the Nappy Roots members bought me a shot of Grey Goose, and I got their autographs. After my first, I was hooked, and so I went to go see Lil Scrappy, and he let me on his tourbus and I got his autograph, and then after that I found out about myspace and hooked up with Trick Trick, he let me go up to the radio station and see him for his interview he did, I got his autograph, and took a pic, it's on myspace http://www.myspace.com/ladygc419, then I just started adding a bunch of people in the industry and now I am on the DPGC Street Team promoting Tha Dogg Pound's comeback, hit that up, too. http://www.myspace.com/dpgcalerts I guess you can call me a groupie, but I take mine to a further level, we only live once! You don't have to get there early to get a spot in the front, you just have to inch your way up by taking any gap you see. LOL.You don't want to get there too early, like J said, 9:30-10 is cool.

i remember the days of waiting in the fucking venue for like 3-4 hours until the artist came out. luckily now, im a lot wiser, and most of the tickets are free, so i dont care if i arrive late or miss some of it.
