Bronx rapper Remy Ma, formerly of Fat Joe’s Terror Squad crew, is being sought by the NYPD in connection with an early morning shooting outside of a Manhattan bar. WCBS reports that an argument between a 27 year-old woman and her 23 year-old associate at the Pizza Bar at 14th Street and Washington Street, turned violent when the older woman pulled out a weapon and shot her friend in the torso. According to NY1, sources have identified the shooter as Remy. Witnesses say the assailant attempted to flee in a blue Cadillac Escalade, which she then crashed a few blocks from the scene. The victim was taken to nearby St. Vincent’s Hospital and is listed in stable condition. Remy’s whereabouts are currently unknown.

A foul-mouthed Bronx rapper was the focus of a citywide manhunt yesterday after she allegedly shot a pal in the Meatpacking District during a spat over $2,000, law enforcement sources said.

"Please don't let me die!" Makeda Barnes-Joseph screamed as she lay bleeding on the ground next to her car in the trendy neighborhood.

"Am I going to die?" Barnes-Joseph howled at 3:50 a.m. on W. 14th St. near Washington St.

Remy Ma - best known as the former leading lady of rapper Fat Joe's Terror Squad - fled the shooting in an SUV, police sources said.

But the Cadillac Escalade crashed just a few blocks away and witnesses told cops Remy Ma fled on foot, sources said. She had stomped into the trendy Pizza Bar on Ninth Ave. near 14th St. with an entourage of 10 people just after midnight.

Barnes-Joseph, 23, was among the crew celebrating a mutual friend's 25th birthday party. Remy Ma and Barnes-Joseph grew up close to one another in the Bronx and had been friends for 15 years.

After filling up on thin-crust pizzas and downing fancy drinks, Remy Ma and three men left the eatery's VIP section and piled into a Cadillac Escalade, witnesses said.

Barnes-Joseph walked outside and slid behind the wheel of her Nissan Maxima, a college graduation gift from her mom. About 10 minutes later, Remy Ma got out of the SUV, pulled open the driver's side door of the Maxima and shot the woman twice in the midsection, police sources and witnesses said.

"I just hope they catch her," said Barnes-Joseph's teary-eyed mom, Christina Barnes, 57.

"Justice should be done. She had no right to do this to my child," the mom said after her daughter got out of surgery at St. Vincent's Hospital Manhattan.

Barnes-Joseph was conscious and in stable condition yesterday, her relatives said.

"I'm very angry," her mother said. "I'm very hurt inside. Thank God she's alive. Going to a party and carrying a gun? It's disgusting."

Cops grabbed the men who were riding in the SUV with the 27-year-old rapper after the shooting. They were being questioned yesterday.

Police were searching several addresses for the hip-hop hothead, whose real name is Remy Smith. Residents at the Castle Hill apartment building where Remy Ma grew up said cops went door-to-door at the complex.

Witnesses told cops that Remy Ma accused Barnes-Joseph of stealing $2,000 before the shooting. The rapper said her longtime pal had been the last person to hold her purse, the witnesses said.

The Pizza Bar's security cameras did not film the shooting, according to owner Sasha Tcherevkoff. Police were searching for the gun yesterday.

Friends of the rapper and the victim were surprised by the guplay, saying the women were very close. Remy Ma and Barnes-Joseph chatted by phone before going to the party, even consulting on outfits.

The wounded woman, who has a business degree from Berkeley College in Manhattan, also baby-sat Remy Ma's kids, a 7-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl, pals said.

"They would do everything together," said Kevin Wilson, 24, who attended yesterday's birthday bash. "They were like sisters."

Attorney Scott Leemon spoke exclusively to AllHipHop.com about a shooting incident involving his Grammy Award nominated client, rap star Remy Ma, on Saturday morning in New York.

Remy Ma, 27, was charged with attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon yesterday (July 14), after a shooting in Manhattan left a 23-year-old woman with gunshot wounds to the abdomen.

"I made arrangements early this morning with the Hip-Hop squad of the New York Police Department to turn her in, but it did not happen until this evening as I was out of town and my flight was delayed," Remy Ma's attorney Scott Leemon told AllHipHop.com. "As to the allegations, I ask everyone to keep an open mind." 

Remy Ma, born Remy Smith, surrendered to authorities yesterday evening, for her alleged role in an early morning shooting in front of The Pizza Bar in Manhattan. 

According to police, Remy Ma was involved in a dispute with a childhood friend named Makeda Barnes- Joseph, after a peaceful evening at The Pizza Bar.

Remy Ma and an entourage left the establishment, but an argument ensued around 4:00 am, when she argued with longtime friend Makeda Barnes- Joseph, apparently over a $2000 debt. 

Police said that Remy Ma opened the driver's side door of Barnes-Joseph's Nissan Maxima and fired her weapon, striking Barnes-Joseph twice in the torso. 

Remy Ma and several unidentified men fled the scene after the shooting. 

Her Cadillac Escalade was found blocks later, after the SUV crashed into another vehicle. 

All occupants fled the scene on foot. The men were arrested earlier today and questioned, while Remy Ma surrendered to police this evening.

Barnes-Joseph is in Saint Vincent's Hospital and is in stable condition.

"Things are not always as they seem," Leemon told AllHipHop.com. "Remember these are only allegations."
