The Triple C’s discuss their new project “America’s Most Wanted,” working with Rick Ross, and of course, the 50 Cent beef.

Chronic Vacation staff writer Justin “Lunatic” Melo caught up with Torch and Gunplay from The Triple C’s to discuss Rick Ross’s new album “Deeper Than Rap,” their own solo debut album “America’s Most Wanted,” and the on-going situation between Ross & 50 Cent.

*DISCLAIMER*: Before you read this, understand that the opinions expressed in this interview are those of the artists, and not of the staff of Chronic Vacation.  We have remained fair, balanced, and neutral in covering the beef between Rick Ross and 50 Cent, and it will continue to stay that way.

ChronicVacation.com: How did you guys establish a relationship with Rick Ross?

Torch: He kind of raised us. I came down to Miami at 15. He was always like a big brother. He took my clothes to the cleaners type shit.

Gunplay: I was a young kid on the block when Ross felt my swag. I was a loyal nigga. I just kept it real from day one and he put me on the team. I been with Ross ever since. I was young, about 15.

ChronicVacation.com: OK, I feel that. You guys appeared on both Rick Ross albums; will the Triple C’s be appearing on “Deeper than Rap” as well?

Torch: Of course! That is the biggest album coming out this year; we have to make a presence on that. We’re on that with a song called “Yams.” I don’t know if you heard it but it’s tearing up the south right now. The people need to hear that.

Gunplay: “Yams” is heating up the south! It’s the hottest record right now in the streets and the clubs. Everywhere you go; it’s nothing but “Yams” playing. “Yams” is whatever you’re selling. If you’re a girl and you’re selling your mouth, then you have yams. If you’re selling sneakers, you have yams. If you’re selling yams then you have yams! Whatever you’re selling, legal or illegal. However you’re getting money, you’re selling yams.

ChronicVacation.com: How would you describe that track, “Yams?”

Torch: It’s a certified street banger! All the trap houses and strip clubs are bumping our shit. It’s like a real hustler’s anthem right now.

ChronicVacation.com: Are the Triple C’s working on a debut album at this time?

Torch: It’s coming out this summer, titled “America’s Most Wanted.” We’re representing on that thing with appearances from (Young) Jeezy, Lil Wayne and Kanye West.

Gunplay: AMW, “America’s Most Wanted.” We are America’s Most Wanted because America wants us. We’re in high demand right now.

ChronicVacation.com: That’s a hot lineup; any influence or inspiration from Ice Cube with the album title?

Torch: Of course! Ice Cube is one of my favorite rappers; that “Death Certificate” album. The whole gangster movement started from NWA. We just kept it going from there. That is definitely that whole inspiration from that title. We’re trying to bring that NWA feel back when everybody was just rebelling with there music.

ChronicVacation.com: We feel that. What’s the label distribution for the album?

Torch: Maybach Music Group/Def Jam. Def Jam finally cut the checks and the money bag! It’s over for these old niggaz.

Gunplay: We’re just waiting for the red tape to get cut with Def Jam and all that. Once we get on that, it’s on! Once we get on, I’ll put on my people and it’s just going to be a mafia related thing.

ChronicVacation.com: Good to hear! What’s your take on the entire 50 Cent situation that’s going on right now?

Torch: That boy is washed up. It’s going down with the boss. They’re making cartoons and baby mommas to disguise their music is wack (laughs). They doing all this and that, I forgot these niggas rapped! (Laughs). Where the music at? Their talking about some other shit, talk about the music – we’re murdering them boys when it comes to the music.

Gunplay: That’s internet stuff. That doesn’t hurt me. People in my hood don’t even have computers. I had to see it for myself. I saw him (50 Cent) talking all that reckless but I don’t care. I’m riding with Rick Ross, no matter who started it. I’m a solider and I’m not a toy soldier like the rest of those dudes. I don’t have a battery in my back like 50 (Cent) has those dudes. I’m from the streets; I have problems in the streets. I don’t care about any 50 Cent internet blog. He can’t hurt me. I’m really from the streets so I have real problems, not rapper problems.

ChronicVacation.com: Does that mean there are more disses on the way?

Torch: More career-enders on the way! I don’t even call it dissing.

Gunplay: Of course! We’re going to stomp his head out until his cranium cracks.

ChronicVacation.com: We’re hoping it stays on wax. Do you think it has a chance to escalate?

Torch: Any time you have knuckle heads involved trying to prove something, anything is possible. As far as the rappers go, we’re not worried about any of those rappers. Maybe somebody trying to get in good favor with them will try some tricks. Tricks are for kids though, I’m a grown man.

Gunplay: I don’t care what it does. If it escalates, it escalates – let’s get to it. Now you’re in my part of town. If you want to keep it music, you’re still in my part of town. But I will crack your cranium; crush his whole face.

ChronicVacation.com: What’s next up for the Triple C’s?

Torch: “Deeper than Rap” is coming out March 24th! “America’s Most Wanted” is coming out right after that, summer time. We’re just grinding these yams up; if you don’t have Yams, get it! It’s the hottest single in the streets right now; the video is all over the internet. We posted it three days ago and it got 3.3 million hits in three days!

Gunplay: “America’s Most Wanted” and “Yams” is the hottest single in the streets. Some more head busting is next! We’re loading up the guns on this side; we’re just waiting for the boss to cut the leash.

ChronicVacation.com: Thanks for your time! Do the Triple C’s have any last words for Chronic Vacation?

Torch: Go check out www.deeperthanrap.com which is the new website from the big boss, Rick Ross. I need y’all to log onto my myspace page at www.myspace.com/specialyst y’all go check out all the new music on there. Log onto it and you can find (Rick) Ross’ page, Gunplay’s page and the rest of the Maybach Music Group. “Deeper than Rap” is coming March 24th! The countdown begins NOW! Torch!

Gunplay: Look out for that Rick Ross album “Deeper than Rap” it’s going to be epic. Look out for the “America’s Most Wanted” album as well; MMG – Maybach Music Group.
