Can Some One Help Me Identify this Version of 2pac's "Pain"
« on: April 09, 2009, 02:22:31 PM »
Okay, Pac fans...I know there's a lot of you on here.  I found this version of "Pain" on an old cdr when I was going through some of my old music.  It appears to heave a little bit of extra vocals from SWV and some vocals of Stretch saying "Don't get too close or else you might get shot."  I seem to remember someone on here in the past describing a similar version as being a live version.  But to me, this does not sound like a live performance.  Does anyone have any info on this one?  Here's the track for reference...

Oh, okay.  Interesting.  I wasn't sure where that sample came from.  Stretch was just a guess because it kind of sounded like his voice.  So do you mean, then, that this version is from the Above the Rim cassette?  And if so, does that mean that the cassette version was a different version than the one on the "Regulate" cd single?  Thanks for the info btw.

I have both the cassette and the Regulate single, and both versions are exactly the same. This isn't the tape version. I don't know where this is from...

without listening to it bank is right.  the clean cassette version has that sample and alternate singing, however the explicit version with those same differences is unreleased on retail.  fortunately a decent rip is available and a full dat rip was made available to a few.

This one that I posted is the dirty version too.

It was on a disc a friend of mine gave me several years ago.  I'm not sure where he got it, but in all honesty, I always assumed he just grabbed it off of napster back in the day.
