he averages the same numbers as smush parker, so whats the point?i'd love to get cassell too. darius miles would be a good sign, im waiting to see if that goes through.
Banks is not bad, but if you compare him with Cassell obviously Cassell is better.I think he's as good as Parker, so having to pretty decent PG's is better than nothing.I'm down with it, but if we can sign Cassell... we should do it. Sam I Am is money.

The only worry for me is the MLE curse the Lakers have with aging veterans...2 years ago, we gave the MLE to Vlade, he sat the season. Then last year, it went to McKie...Again, injured the whole season...It would suck if we signed Cassell and he ended up getting injured and started subsiding...But I don't see it happening. Banks is probably the safer bet and would be the nicer pick up for the future...Not as athletic as Smush, but he's putting up the same numbers and supposedly has a much better basketball mind which can be improved upon immensely...Banks/Smush/Sasha...That's definitely a nice PG rotation...PeACe
Banks is no diffrent from smush parker. if we are going to address the point guard position then we need to sign sam cassell who has at least 2 yrs left in the tank. he can still play and hit big shots for you. marcus banks is 2nd string pg at best. why are people excited over this guy?

He didn't really get minutes in his career to show-case his talent, but last year with Minnesota he looked very promising on the court. Great upside, great decision-maker, pretty much a smart point guard with excellent upside...As of now, I agree, he hasn't really proven himself to be above Smush or anything, but I know for a fact that the Laker organization is very high on him and has been trying to obtain him for the last 2 years...There's no doubt that he'd start over Smush, Lakers think Smush can be deadly off the bench...I agree that we should try to push for Sam, but if we can't, Banks will be welcomed and a point guard rotation of Banks/Smush/Vujacic will be good...PeACe
