Yeah I See Whut Your Saying...Just Like The "Evil Dead" Movies & "Army Of Darkness" Which I Love.  I really liked this movie, but I can see how it might not be for everyone.  To me, part of its charm was that it reminded me a lot of Raimi's "Evil Dead" movies.  It had its genuine scare moments and its slapstick moments, but that's sort of Raimi's thing.  There is a lot of physical comedy blended in with the scares.  It's the sort of thing, were you just either really like it or you don't.  I would have preferred another R Rated Raimi movie, but for a PG-13 film, it didn't really pull any punches.
  I appreciated that too.  Now days, they tend to water things down for the theater release to put more asses in the seats.  Then they put out the "unrated" version on video, to try to sell twice as many dvds.  It's all gotten so formulaic.  Not like the old days of dvd where occasionally you'd actually find a director's cut or unrated cut of a film that was actually really different and worth the extra money.
