I2G kicked it with the very talented mc, Dollah D for a exclusive interview. We discuss his new single, Gas Break Dip Smash with Black N Mild & XL Middleton that is blazing the net, his upcoming album and his thoughts on the west coast so check it out.

Illuminati 2G is here with Dollah D how’s it going man?

I’m good, how about you?

Good. Tell me a little bit about how you got your start in hip hop and who are some of your musical influences out there coming up.

I started when I was about 16 years old and I have always been into west coast G-Funk music. I grew up listen to Warren G and Snoop, even George Clinton. My whole family has a good musical background, so I have always been a natural when it came to music.

I started out making beats on fruity loops and just kind of taught myself how to do all that stuff. Then I started rapping over my own beats and so it just went from there man. Basically every major artist out on the west coast influenced me.

You have the new single out entitled Gas Break Dip Smash with XL Middleton and Black N Mild. Tell me a little bit about how the single came together for you.

Oh man that track came out real tight. My man Triple X, who is producing my entire album entitled Go Funk Yourself, he produced it and he was linked up with this guy named Black N Mild and I at the time had never heard of him. He linked us up and I sent him the beat, he dropped a nice hook and a verse and it was amazing.

I linked up with XL Middleton, who Triple X also did some work with as well. We linked up and we also helped him out alot in Canada when he was out here. I sent the track to him and it just came out amazing and then I finished the track off.

Do you guys have a video set to drop from that single?

Yeah we are definintely planning on doing that. I plan on going out to Los Angeles to shoot it, so we might be getting one of XL’s dudes to shoot it. We are definitely looking to get a video done for that song in the next couple of months.

You had mentioned your album earlier, is there any details that you can give about the album?

The release date is going to be in the summertime. I got alot of dope features on there, and this album is dedicated to G-Funk music so I am taking a chance on bringing it back. I got guys like Bad Azz from DPGC, Kokane, Daddy V, OG Suicide, so it is definitely something to look forward to.

What are your thoughts on west coast hip hop?

Well I am from the west coast of Canada, but to me I think there are alot of new, up coming artists that are killing it right now. Same with some of the OG’s, putting out projects and I have nothing but respect for that.

Do you have any upcoming shows or tour dates?

Right now we are just concentrating on getting the 4 artists out from my label. After that then we will start booking many tours, starting in Canada and then work our way to the states.

What is next to drop from your label after your album drops?

I have Young Gauge, Phillie The Kyd, Kris Monico, Profreshnill. February 15th, Young Gauge is releasing his album, it is called The Life & Times Of Jesse Piff. Actually he just changed that, we are going to be calling it The Life & Grind Of Jesse Piff. We are also working on Phillie The Kyd’s album, which we will be releasing in March, towards the end of the month. Then we will be releasing my project in the summertime.

What is your website information for people looking to check out your music and see what you have going on?

www.soundcloud.com/streetkingz. We have some new websites coming out but right now we are in the middle of updating them. Check us out on facebook, http://www.facebook.com/street.kingz1.

Alright well that is all the questions I have for you, appreciate you getting down for the interview. Is there any last words or shoutouts you want to get out there to the people?

First of all thank you to my wife and family for sticking by me through all this. My team, all my crew, and if it was not for them, we would not have the grind that we do have. Joshua Tyler from Tactics Entertainment and Curtis Young and Paul, big ups to the west coast.
