Press Release: Los Angeles rapper Ras Kass, regarded by many as one of the most lyrically gifted MCs to ever pick up a microphone, has joined forces with EMPIRE Distribution to release his upcoming projects. Ras has spent the last few years cultivating a loyal underground following with releases such as "A.D.I.D.A.S." in 2010, the "Engangered Lyricist" series as well as "Spit No Evil" with Doc Hollywood earlier this year. With the support of EMPIRE's distribution and marketing machine, he is looking to expand his outreach and further solidify his legacy.

EMPIRE has been behind many of the last years' stellar Hip-Hop and R&B releases, including Kendrick Lamar's "Section.80", Snoop Dogg's "Stoner's EP", Phonte's "Charity Starts At Home", Crooked I's "In None We Trust", ScHoolboy Q's "Setbacks" and The Foreign Exchange's "Authenticity". With a strong roster including Fat Joe, N.O.R.E., Tego Calderòn, J Boog, Andre Nickatina, Messy Marv, Too Short and Slum Village, Ras will be in good company at EMPIRE.

Fans can expect two projects from Ras Kass before the end of the year, starting with the "P.U.M.A." EP, which will include production from Alchemist and Klasic among others. The EP will be followed by "F.I.L.A.", Ras' upcoming full-length album, which will have several surprise guests and producers that cannot be revealed at press time.

Expect the first single off the "F.I.L.A." EP, "Sushi", to be released in August along with a video. More news to follow very soon.

Very dope news, new shit from Ras is always worth waiting for. Actually along with DPG guys, he brings the music that always has good quality, at least on some tracks. And this is rare these days. Plus he is light years ahead lyrically from any rapper.

Simply cant wait, and will support both projects.

whats the fucking point? get a loan, go press 200 copies up of your album and then sell them out the trunk of your car, because thats all your ever going to sell anyway. What are rappers like these going to do financially in their 50's/60's?

whenever a rapper says they're prepping multiple projects I just expect them both/all to suck. i don't get why rappers are so intrigued by releasing an assload of material. no way can you put your all into a project if you're focusing on a quota of songs per project.

it's just a EP followed by an album, not an assload of material bro. artists used to release 1 album with 18 songs, nowadays makes much more sense to do a EP with 6 songs and an album with 12-14 records on it.

True but I'm just a fan of artist who take it 1-project-at-a-time. Like the way E-40 released like 3 disc in 1 day or how Mitchy is trying to drop 3 albums this year. Shit is cringe-worthy because they're only going to end up with enough dope material to fill 1 disc.
