there's so much more to the story that can't be answered by watching the movie alone. that's why in the DVD, the director has another short movie in there that explains in depth everything that occurs throughout the movie (well, this is what I'm told).

And Cliftone... I don't know man. Are you saying that everyone who watches it must make a copy of it? So then the woman was making a copy of the tape on behalf of the kid? It doesn't make sense to me. But anyways, to each his own

I bought tha DVD... I haven't gotten around to checkin out tha extra features... I usually dont... but I'm gonna check tha Features on this DVD cuz I heard they had some crazy extra stuff....



She wasn't making the tape on behalf of the kid, She was holding the kids hands while he pushed the Record button....  But I'm not even sure if they have to Record another tape, they probably just need to show it to somebody... but she didnt wanna take no chances.

Dam sounds like 1 fucked up confusing movie.  The trailer made the movie look awesome but it just sounds like everyone that watched it didnt understand it.

I saw that extra footage and it just seems like all new footage that was left on the cutting room floor.  Didn't seem to help.

Also, has anyone here seen the Jap version?  Heard it was mad scarier.

I just saw tha extra footage... I think it helps a lil...



Tha jap version is Ringu, you can see tha preview to it on tha DVD, it looks alright, just kinda low budget. But who needs crazy special effects in a horror movie.

Morrow, the reason it doesn't make sense is because there's so many plot holes in it, it's leaking, lol.  

It's hard to make a movie like that though where the whole thing has a perfect explanation.  Everybody that saw the tape had to SHOW it to someone else, not necessarily make a copy.  The kid made a copy so they could mail it off to someone.  They showed the whole tape at the end because it was supposed to mean, if you didn't show somebody else the movie,you'd die too, LOL so the only way to NOT DIE was to come back and see the movie with your friends, who would then have to bring their friends, etc.  Novel, eh?

i learned today that there are Ringu , Ring 0 , and Ring 2 in Japan....Those tell the story pretty good.
