Bonds was already leading the league in OBP, Slugging and OPS in the early 90's. Griffey was just the fan favorite because he was such a boss nigga.

Arguably the greatest CF of all time too. Bonds was good in the field but wasn't the human highlight reel that Griffey was.

Not all the time.  MJ had his haters, but most of the time it was usually just big supporters of rival teams who didn't want him to win.  There are people who genuinely dislike Kobe.  I don't even think Magic had a lot of haters either, from what I remember, aside from Boston fans wanting the Lakers to pack up their shit and go home with the L.
