After Vince brought WCW and literally fucked up the whole angle degrading the fuck out of WCW wrestlers - people were waiting to see DDP fight against Rock (both were the so-called "People champions" in their companies), Sting against Undertaker, etc.

Instead of that, we got "The Invasion" angle, were DDP was loosing matches against Undertaker's wife (lol, smfh) and from that point on - it was the beggining of the end for wrestling.. no new stars were created, and dudes from WCW and ECW who got the potential to be even greater ticket sellers than before were quickly moved from the picture - they misused every single one of them, including Goldberg, Big Poppa Pump, etc.

Yeha, I remember Sting talking about how that was the main reason he didn't join. What got me during the "Invasion" stuff was Tommy Dreamer. Dude was a legend in ECW and was a complete nobody during that entire thing.

That NWO/Attitude era will never be duplicated... ever again. We're stuck in this PG bullshit with kids buying every merchandise John Cena related and as far as I can see - we ain't going nowhere with this crap. Plus, there's no new stars in the making - WWE slept past 10 years and didn't create a single dude worth watching. All of them are replicas of past wrestlers - you got another Goldberg (Ryback), fake Macho Manetc. or some bullshit characters like Dolph Zigler.

They don't have the charisma nor the skills of the Hogan's, the Ric Flair's, the Scott Hall's, the Rock's, the Stone Cold's, etc. - wrestling is pretty much unwatchable today much like the NBA with this pussy ass rules...

The attitude era was a fluke & most overrated era ever . No,WWe is not stuck in PG bullshit. WWE went back to their roots aka PG. WWF & wrestlemania was made by original PG era aka Rock-N-Wrestling era . John Cena has more charisma & skills then Hulk Hogan ever had . What is fuuny what you said about kids buying every merchandise John Cena related and as far as I can see.  Well the same thing can be said about Hulk Hogan during The Rock-N-Wrestling era .. Also Hogan & Flair were replicas of wrestlers from era's before them . Hogan was a replica of Austin Idol & Superstar Billy Graham . Flair was replica of Nick Bockwinkle & Buddy Rogers . Every wrestler is a replica since the 1950's . That is how wrestling business works . WWE has tried creating stars the problem is fans & the talent not WWE. No.wrestling is not even close to being  pretty much unwatchable today . The shield is one of best things going .

Well, there were few nice dudes here and there for the past 10 years (CM Punk being one of them), but neither one of them was really capable of jumping into that Rock/Stone Cold/Flair/Hall/Steiner level of talent and charisma.. it's like the NBA - that magic just ain't there no more.

Vince wanted to bury WCW and ECW from the first time he brough both companies - you could see that from a mile away. It was obvious back in late 1999 when Chris Jericho debuted in WWE and Rock mocked him with that "who are you?" quote. It happened with Booker T in 2001 also - even tho Booker T was a mid-card player in my opinion he was the WCW HW champ at that moment and they made him look like he was Disco Inferno or something... I'm pretty sure this was Vince's way to tell - "your from WCW or ECW, which meand your playing second team here". We all know Vince has a huge ego and I'm sure he was pretty much full of himself when he finally won the war against Billionaire Ted.

Still, if was very unfare to the talent itself - DDP had a "Rock status" in WCW and to seen him lose matches against Undertaker's wife was really fucked up if you ask me. And from that point on it was clear to me, that I won't be watching this too long...

First of all, I was never a big fan of both - Hogan and Flair. BUT, Flair was GOLD on the mic and had the rare talent of making his opponents look better in the matches against him, than they actually were. Hollywood Hogan on the other hand was probably the greatest heel of all-time.
I don't think ever wrestler in the 90's was a replica of dudes that came before them - look at Scott Hall of Scott Steiner. I hated Steiner when he was a babyface, but when he turned into Big Poppa Pump, his stacks went thru the roof. All the elements came to the picture - the talent, the looks, the charisma, the mic skills, etc. Him and Buff were probably the funniest duo to watch in those days, along with Hall/Nash and Triple H/Shawn Michaels. They were whooping dudes asses left and right and mocking them at the same time and it was hillarious. Every single one of them had the total package - something that's missing today. They try to recreate the magic, but it don't work - you just can't duplicate that.

Look how the matches are constructed these days - punch, punch, bodyslam, punch, punch, elbow drop etc. Then look how they were back in the 90's, specially with the cruseirweight division (Ray Mysterio, Chris Jericho, Dean Malenko, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Eddie Guerrero, etc.) and tell me is this the same shit? lol, not even close to being as exited as it was back then.

the business has changed A LOT


if you listen to the Steve Austin and Chris Jericho podcasts they talk about how you use to cut your teeth and fine tune your chop in smaller territories and learn different things from each territory you worked. but since thats gone now and everything is a groomed by the WWE and their performance center, that organic element is gone. it's like a factory now instead of a farm.

also they talk about how its more scripted now, that improv portion of it has gone out the window , and you can tell, which has hurt the product. and a lot of that  failure can be faulted to steph and HHH.

but with all that said i feel like if these negative elements are scaled back, there's plenty of talent out there if they let these performers be themselves.


is there another Rock out there? haha no but i mean he's like top 3 all time promo givers ever

but theres a lot of great talkers stil, they just need to let them be themselves like in the attitude era

the talent i think is just as good as ever

im not gonna compare today with the past because there is no point and i can compare and contrast today's talent with yesterday's talent but its pointless because you just have to love the product for what its worth nowadays, and if you cant like it for what it is, then your really not a true wrestling fan, your just living in the past wishing it was good as it once was...

but with that being said i see 2014 \ being a big year for Antonio Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler, Curtis Axel, Big E, and hopefully Kofi Kingston and all of the Shield

also it would be great to have a new talent win the title like Cody Rhodes, Ziggler or hell even Daniel Bryan and carry it into the future
even though im very critical of D Bryan and think he is a true vanilla midget and doesnt have the charisma, he is over like rover and can wrestler and put on a fuckin great match with anyone and thats why he deserves that push, i know alot of people might think im wrong by saying he doesnt have the charisma or the look to carry the company, but thats just my personal opinions... but one thing is for sure... that dude can Go but i mean he was trained by the one of if the not the best in ring workers ever HBK

and you know what else is funny... HBK has never made my personal top 5 favorite wrestlers of all time, but he's  in 3 out of 5 of my favorite matches of all time lol i think 10 years from now Daniel Brian will be in that same category lol
