amoeba got new cds too, probably the best selection in southern cali. sometimes prices on new shit can be harsh, but sometimes you can get some dope deals on used stuff. aron's is also right down the street and they are pretty dope too and usually have slightly lower prices. honestly other then that music stores in southern cali suck, except maybe for some pennylanes. wherehouse used to be great for old school shit, but since they closed a shit load of them down and combined used with new I don't see anymore more dope old school shit. try backside records in burbank for that crooked I cd and they got all the strong arm steady mixtapes. I haven't been able to find the mitchy slick strong arm steady mixtapes, i think their titled "Strong Arm Robbery" & "Killifornia Handgunner". Although I got the Kilifornia Handgunner mixtape off the internet a while back. peace!oh yeah aron's is just north of santa monica/highland and amoeba is off of sunset blvd/cahuenga.
yeah, str8 up CDRz and if they were sealed, it was just those plastic sleeves with adhesive. what pisses me off is on the first 2 phil the agony mix cd's they don't have shouts, or not many except the rappers are saying "steady". but i was listening to those 2 D-BO strong arm steady compilations in a store and that dj (will blast?) is talking/shouting over parts of the tracks (when MC's are spittin) and singing, shit gets real annoying, real quick. on this new phil the agony mix cd (3rd) that fool is up on it doing the same shit!! not as bad, but he bugz. for the most part though for a mix cd this is one of the dopest CD's to drop recently. it's got shit with bad azz, mitchy slick, planet asia, krondon, self scientific, xzibit (prod. by dr. dre), defari, dilated peoples...and i think ras kass. the one i just picked up was not in any plastic, it was unsealed.yeah most of these underground l.a. cats will drop their own produced and self made (homemade) CD's over at small record shops, and usually their CDRz. So their real, but just not up to the professional level that you would find on a big label release. i got that d12 mix cd, looked all legit and it was a cdr, funny thing was it wouldn't play on my home shelfstereo system, but it played in my car stereo system. peace!
when i saw them used they were in the used mix cds section at the end of hiphop near the compilations. the new ones were located in the new mixed cds also near the end of the hiphop between compilations and the edited/clearance shit, peace!
