Raw Roots affiliate and general Hiphop industry DIY man in Philly, Klap, found himself speaking to Jay Z yesterday (as you do) and got some very revealing information.

It would seem that Jay Z hasn't, as many feared, completely rejected the truecore fans he made with his first album and lost with near everything since, but has in fact kept his ear to the ground.

Among his favourite MCs of the moment are Common and Talib Kweli. He's trying to work with Last Emperor (interview up shortly) and even said he hopes to sign none other than Canibus to Rocafella records!!!

I think the third paragraph was already mentioned in some news, but were disclaimed a few days later. BTW: I don't think Canibus would ever sign to Roc-A-Fella, because he dislikes most of the Roc-A-Fella artists.

In other Jay Z news, I read today that S Dot is bidding to buy the New Jersey Nets franchise.  !!!

Music rap performer Jay-Z has retained the New York City investment banking firm of Andrew, Alexander,Wise and Co. to explore the possibility of making a bid to purchase the New Jersey Nets, sources told ESPN.


The YankeeNets holding company, which runs the franchise, put it up for auction in September and is now receiving bids.


A spokesman for Jay-Z declined comment to ESPN.


The Newark Star Ledger reported last week that New York developer Bruce Ratner had emerged as the high bidder for the Nets with an offer of $275 million.

Jay z said he feels the HipHop game needs a rapper like Canibus to get a fair chance so they can change the game. Make Hiphop exciting again. Jay feels that if Bis was on a label like ROC he'd be at the very least a solid Gold artist . If not 1 million or more!

But I don't know if "come to us and you'll sell a million" is the right way to holla at Canibus, because he's not that type of artist who does this shit only to earn much money. But he would definitely deserve platinum at minimum
