Favorite Singles?

Singles, not album cuts. What are your favorite singles out right now? Why?

Fabolous feat. Mike Shorey - Make You Mine

Beat is knocking as all hell. Fabo spitting hot, too. It's his usual Playboy rhymes, but he came on a more street tip this time. Mike Shorey, even though he sounded like he was rapping, sounded hot on the track.

State Property feat. Sparks, Oschino, Young Chris & Freeway - Want Me Back

I don't really like State Prop, but everyone ripped it. Oschino tore it up. Young Chris got a good voice for hooks. Whoever produced this(Kanye?), laced it nicely.

RZA feat. ODB & The Division - We Pop

The Division are your typical NY Emcees, but they came hot. ODB, with The Division, killed the hook. The beat is sick, RZA's flow was raw. Still knocking.

Twista feat. Kanye West & Jaime Foxx - Slow Jamz

Kanye seems like he might get producer of the year award from me this year. This beat is hot. His verse was tight. Twista straight ripped the track up. Jaime Foxx got a good voice, I might have to peep his other work.

Ashanti feat. Charlie Baltimore, Fatal & Ja Rule - Rain On Me Remix

Hot beat, I dug the original a lot. This remix is hot, Charlie Baltimore was decent. Fatal was the standout, as he usually is. I want to get another album from this cat, he might actually get real good production. Ja's still able to rip a track like this, but he's still keeping it hard.

State Property feat. Peedi Crakk & Sparks - Temporary Relief

Peedi Crakk is a top prospect to me. He's got a real dope voice and a great flow. Sparks was coo on this, but Peedi ripped him. I liked the beat a lot.

State Property feat. Young Chris & Peedi Crakk - Criminal Background

This song can be annoying at first, the beat is a little much, but once it kicks in and they start rhyming it's tight. Peedi Crakk made this track for me, I'm really digging this cat. I'm gonna have to find his mixtape.

Nappy Roots feat. Anthony Hamilton - Sick And Tired

The Nappy boys and Anthony Hamilton do it again. They're bringing the heat on their collabs. This is a song we need in Hip Hop right now. Also, this is the kind of track that shows the South ain't ruining Hip Hop. Here's six talented emcees out the South able to craft an amazing song without using Bling references, Crunk-isms, Gangster-isms and all that.

Cassidy feat. R.Kelly - Hotel

Kellz!!! This has been his year, no doubt. I like how Cass threw it back to the Sugar Hill Gang on his opening bars of the verses. He impressed me. Kellz had a heated hook. Swizz laced a sick beat. Thanks to WCV for pointing that out. Still one of my jams right now.

Young Gunz feat. Chingy - Can't Stop, Won't Stop Remix

I hated the original, but this remix is sick. Neef dropped a hot verse, his flow is nice. I'm still digging the "Drag Rap" sample on this. One of the most sampled tracks, but also very slept on and unknown. Chingy sounded perfect on this, he rode the beat crazy.

The Untouchables feat. Benzino - Untouchable

Top 3 beat of the year! No doubt. I'm saying it right now. Hangman 3, which Zino is apart of, laced this shit up nicely. Zino's verse was HEATED. When he's on point, his flow is  :o L.O. was coo, but I'm really digging Harley. That cat is sick, I'm always saying "The General of the Block is me!." Cuddy's adlibs were coo.

Timbaland & Magoo feat. Sebastian & Raje Shwari - Indian Flute

Timbo got the heat on this beat. That flute is real catchy, hell, all the Indian-styled beats are catchy. I liked Sebastian's verse, though it was real short. He's got a nice flow and seeing as Timbo is his brother, he'll have tight production.

Juvenile feat. Mannie Fresh - In My Life

I never thought Juvi was going back to Cash Money, but I'm glad he did. Mannie hooked up this beat like there's no tomorrow. I swear I thought it was 97 again when I heard this track. This is some classic Cash Money shit. Juvi hasn't lost a step yet.

Drop your favorite singles, with explanations.

Peedi Crack..
Talk about boring mixtape cats.. this dude got the most annoying flow since E-40.
But hey...

Anyways, here's my favs this week:

(Not all singles, but dope none the less)

Drag-On feat. Styles P. - Respect my gangsta remix
Grimey shit.. sick bangah..
No brainfood, just straight gangstashit, like we're used to from Styles..
Drag kicks some sick metaphors as well..

Jadakiss feat. Sheek Louch - J.A.D.A.
The beat was annoying in the beginning, but they rip it so hard, it just keeps growing on you.
Jada & Sheek trading verses like Jada does with Styles now..

Jaheim feat. Styles, Sheek, Jae Hood - Many men remix
What 50's "Many men" could have been with a real singer on the hook..
D-Block hooked up with Jaheim.. promising.
Jaheim is real impressive on this.

Kardinal Offishall - K.O. 101
Kardinal kicks some jalla jalla on the "Stunt 101" beat..
His alternative hook is addictive.. not a single though.

Mobb Deep - Gangstaz Roll
Sick new Mobb-single, they went back to the grimey style now.. fuck sales.

Obie Trice feat. Redman, Lloyd Banks, Jadakiss & Nate Dogg
Remix of the year... ??
Might be, too bad they didn't make a video for this one.. sick verses.

Tragedy Khadafi feat. Capone & Littles - U make me
The tightest jam on the Tragedy album, sick beat, dope chorus..
Tragedy & Capone rips it, and Littles is pretty coo on this.

Memphis Bleek feat. Jay-Z & Beanie Siegel - Murda Murda
Jay-Z: "We gon flip the lyrics on yall niggaz!"
SICK Jigga verse, sick beat, Beanie & Bleek playing the bench..

Cassidy feat. Styles P. - Pop that cannon
Just out on mIRC.. Swizz laces Cass & Holiday up..

I didn't know Jome liked Kardi!  That's dope.

Cassidy & R. Kelly "Hotel"Just a dope track.  R. Kelly gives an amazing performance on this song.

Mya feat. Fat Tip & Tre "Fallen"
Dope Remake of a classic westcoast song.

Twista feat. Kanye West & Jaime Foxx "Slow Jamz"
I've been bumpin this song 24/7 the past 2 days.  It's just so damn smooth.

AMP "AMP Army"
Dope sample of "Seven Nation Army" by the white stripes.  The flipped it nicely, and made a dope club track out of it.  Since it's just a Canadian single, I'll let y'all download it....

Titled "2"

Apart from those, I like the outkast ones, Obie, G-Unit

Here we go:

Kanye West, Twista, Jamie Foxx - Slow Jam

Man this shit really is hot. Dope beat, Kanye drops an ok verse, but Twista completly rips it. Jamie Foxx was also pretty hot on the hook.

DJ Format feat Abdominal - Vicious Battle Raps

Pure dopeness again from these two, and everyone still sleeping. The videos pretty dope as well. The return of the Tuna Fish and Bear outfits from the "We Know Something You Don't Know" vid as well at the end.

Alicia Keys - You Don't Know My Name

Kanye hooked this up proper, and Miss Keys does her thing. Apparantly Mos is working on a remix, can't wait for that, but until then this is still amazing.

Jay Z feat Pharell - Change Clothes and Go

I'm gonna get murdered for this one, but I am actually really feeling this joint. Its just got a real dope flow to it, and is one of the doper Neptunes productions, cause its not all synthed up, just a dope tune. Admittedly, Jiggas rhyming at points annoys me (all that is that so necessary bollocks), but overall I think its a dope track.

Timbaland and Magoo - Indian Flute

The whole Indian thing is starting to annoy me a bit, but theres no denying this is dope. And the fact that Timbaland actually sort of mocks the whole indian sampling idea with the "and I don't know what you saying" bit, just makes it doper.

Killah Priest feat ODB - can't remember the name

Killah Priest's new single, can't remember the name, but its pretty dope, ODB does his normal funnyman act, but actually stays on beat :o at the same time. Starting to grow on me.

50 Cent - "In The Club"
Bubba Sparkxxx - "Deliverance"
Black Moon - "Stay Real"

C-Rayz Walz - "The Essence"
2Pac - "Runnin' (Dying To Live)"
Nas & Lake - "One Never Knows"
The Roots - "The Seed 2.0" (I think it came out as a single in 2003)
