Talib Kweli - Beautiful Struggle Info

Info on the new Kweli album from Okayplayer

Quote
some "Beautiful" news on Kweli. Word on the street is that The Beautiful Struggle has some dynamite cameos, including Common, Killer Mike, Faith, and Mary J. Blige. With production from Hi-Tek (Reflection Eternal back at it!) and Kanye West, I'm looking into a pre-order NOW. And these are just the folks we're hearing about so far. Stay tuned.

Sounds pretty dope from that info. Good to see him hooking up with Hi-Tek again, and some Kanye West production as well is dope considering the quality of the tracks he produced from Quality. Also, hiphopsite said that Madlib was gonna produce a few tracks as well, which can only be good. My only question mark would be where this album is gonna drop, what with the impeding demise of Rawkus.

Good news. Talib & Hi-Tek back together sounds great.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.
