« on: March 26, 2005, 12:40:21 PM »
shared this new 'Snoop' news with some major media outlets ie MTV, BET... Record Labels... have them announce the news as well... this puts the word out, but it also forces Snoop to go through with the project...I mean if I were you, that's what I'd do...

Hmm, I just found this on the Internet from March 20th

Hip-hop star Snoop Dogg has attacked the divide between America's East and West Coast, slamming New York rap fans for snubbing up-and-coming Los Angeles acts.

The Drop It Like It's Hot star also claims that some East Coast artists copy rappers on the West Coast and take the credit for their style.

The 33-year-old says: "We don't get no airplay on East Coast radio, but East Coast artists get all kinds of airplay on the West Coast.

"They're always stealing our style, stealing our slang, stealing our looks and getting paid off for it."

The rapper adds: "It's like on the West Coast, if you ain't with Dr Dre or Snoop Dogg, we ain't letting you in. That ain't fair. There are other guys out here doing it that should be given the opportunity as well."

yeah i know. I remember MTV always doing like audio recordings in their news updates, just like stars on the phone and shit, and we have it all on audio, so it should be 100% legit.

Shaheem Reid is the dude you should try and contact. He's always straight with his coverage of the west.

Huge props on the news!!!

I don't think we'd be seeing this news without dubcnn.

if snoop actually was full into doing it, he would have probably told MTV himself...

i swear when it comes to snoop, alot of people here are forgetful...

how many albums did he say were going to be like doggystyle?

how many times did he say he was gonna start working with dre?

how many times did he say he was gonna bring back the west?

and these never happened in like the last 3-4 years

i'm glad you guys are being optimistic, but i'm saying he's crying wolf until i see some shit happen for myself

The thing is, if Nima and co. do inform MTV of this news, the ''exclusive-ness'' of this story is lost and Snoop probably won't feel the need to talk to DubCNN because MTV will then be covering all the updates on the 'West Coast Conference'. On the other hand, I understand why you would want to spread this information around the major outlets, but if Snoop has MTV, BET, etc. wanting coverage of all the latest on his Western 'movement', he very well might forget about where these plans originated (DubCNN) and, quite frankly, I like coming to this website for all the latest nwws surrounding the West Coast and its talent. DubCNN deserves a scoop like this.

So I suppose there are two ways of looking it at. Basically, I'm all for it provided that DubCNN gets a decent mention in any future coverage!
"Shit ain't all peaches and cream, and I ain't Sara Lee, bitch!" - Lloyd Banks

"I'm Morpheus in this Hip-Hop Matrix, exposing fake shit." - Common

"With consecutive platinum hits, I up my status. Ain't no more Calvin Broadus!" - Snoop

"Look at all these conscious rappers - guess who influenced them?" - KRS One

Basically Snoop called me because he wanted to get the word out from the underground up, to get people talking and the shit bubbling, he knows DubCNN reaches alot of people but mostly like real hiphop heads, specially West Coast HipHop heads, and alot of artists also.

So instead of calling MTV or BET and telling the kiddies that shit, he wanted me to let the word out right now to create some controversy and get people talking, before the shit is taken to the mainstream. atleast thats what he told me

understand that something on the phone is not the same thing as something in writing...Snoop might be planning a fucking Breast Cancer awareness event for all you know but if he is just thinking about it and hasnt set anything up yet then what good is it to promote something that might not happen cuz if it doesnt happen then it looks bad after you promoted it.  Im sure once he has everything in stone or at least has got some stuff in writing regarding the dates and stuff his publicist and people around him will make sure other larger media outlets know about it.

And if ya'll didnt know, Dubcnn is becoming a large media outlet too!
