Calls to ban R&B star By DEREK BROWNTHERE was a call for a ban on child-sex charge singer R Kelly last night as his single headed for No1. The R&B star faces 22 porn allegations, including claims that he videoed himself having sex with a 13-year-old girl.Music experts are furious the singer is still recording while the charges remain unanswered.R Kelly’s latest single, Ignition, includes the line: “Girl, please let me stick my key in your ignition, babe.” Paul Kramer, publisher of industry magazine The Hit Sheet, said: “As a father of two young children I find it morally reprehensible that leading chain stores and supermarkets would stock this record.“R Kelly is charged with a number of crimes against minors and I would like to see this record removed from shelves straight away. “The record-buying public obviously don’t know or care about R Kelly’s personal problems right now.” Youngsters here are rushing to spend their pocket money on the song. It is easily No1 in the midweek charts. But back home in the US the 36-year-old star could be looking at up to 15 years in prison when he goes on trial this August.Kelly was first arrested in Chicago last June and charged with 21 paedophile offences relating to a home video. The singer, real name Robert Kelly, was released on £500,000 bail. In January this year — while still on bail — he was busted again in Miami after police raided his home and allegedly found 12 photographs of an underage naked girl. Three are alleged to show Kelly having sex with her. He was again freed, after paying an £8,000 bond.Yet the furore surrounding the singer has been swept under the carpet here. The British division of his record label, Jive, refuse to comment on the charges. However, his US adviser, Allan Mayer, admitted: “Robert says that he has done some things in his life that he is not proud of. But I think he recognises that these charges are trumped up.”The lyrics for Ignition, about a love affair with a car, are a thinly-veiled metaphor for sex. They include the lines: “Now hit the lights and check out all my functions, babe. Girl, back that thing up so I can wax it, baby. Honey, we gon’ mess around and get a ticket, babe.”A spokesman for record store HMV said last night that it was up to the the public to decide the fate of the single — not record stores. He said: “The public will choose whether it should be No1 not us. “If the public don’t support R Kelly then they won’t buy his records and they will stay on the shelves.”A spokesman for Woolworths added: “We would review selling R Kelly music if he is found guilty.”

oh and by the way, I wasn't being racist, I was being prejudice. I hate dumb people. Dumb is not a race you fuckin moron.
notice the way everything is placed onto Kelly head while this girl who was apparently 13 is gettin away with it Scott free. This girl shouldent even of been thinkin about sex at 13, there are no charges of rape so really they are both as bad as each other. Yes Kelly being the mega star that he is maybe shudda thought twice about stickin his key in her ignition but she was up for it as much as he was so they are both as guility as each other. I am by no way being sexist here but women get away with far too much shit these days.
